Girl, THANK YOU!! i can not tell you how much this video meant! I literally had a happy tear😂 I swear I have been looking for a video for about a YEAR now on how to get a rabbit USED to being held! There are so many videos on how to pick up but none on how to get them used to it! Thanks!!!
I love this! One of my buns, Lola used to bite you and didn’t let you touch her, since she came from a family that totally neglected her:( but now she just climbs all over me and wants so many pets, and never bites! Also you videos have helped me soo much! They even convinced my roommate to let the buns live in a bigger space, and run around free!
Some rabbits will tolerate being held and some will not, it's not really a thing you can just teach them... From my expirience I wouldnt pick them up unless I had to if they didnt like it, since picking up a rabbit with fragile trust can easily break it. I was a little too excited that my first rabbit slightly tolerated being held, I picked him up all the time but eventually he wouldnt even let me touch him with the fear I would just swoop him up.. I didnt pick him up after that and the training process afterwards was, well, alot. My current rabbit was tamed by the breeder, being picked up since he was a baby and has now learned to be held whilst the holder walks around, so while I wasnt able to train him into being held, I can tell you that its easier to just read the bunny. If theyre okay with it, do it! Just dont milk it, because it can get tiring for them. If they dont like it, dont do it, as much as I would have liked to cuddle my past bunny, he just didnt like that. So I respected him
@@nellisaesthetic My bunnies don’t like being held but all I do is pick them up and let them roam free in a room with some calming bunny music and some treats laying around and then when I put them back they are perfectly happy!😊
I tried picking Basil up in short segments while she was eating and she caught on too 😂😂 buns are too smart! all these tips are sooo great! Thank you for sharing ♥️
Our little bun is 6 months old soon and he doesn’t like being held at all. I’ve tried, but he gets so stressed. So now I’m stressed by the thought of picking him up and holding him. He is the cuddliest thing when he has all feet on the ground.
This was very helpful! My bun is young so I want to get him used to me early on, but don't want to make mistakes! He confidently walks around and nudges me whenever he comes over to me 🤣 Is nudging a good thing?
My bunny actually prefers to be held in any way at almost all times lol. If I set her down she automatically tries to hop on my arms and she will just sleep on my chest 🥺 Edit: I was recently forced to give up my bunny by my parents because she got pregnant and we couldn’t afford to keep her or her babies, and we wouldn’t know how to take care of them until we got them proper homes. So Daisy, I love you and I hope you and your babies are doing wonderful ❤️
@@SincerelyCinnabun Me too!!!! That’s on my list when I get my first crib. Already looking. Gimme a month or two and I’ll be in my own place. Imma set the cage up before I leave to go get one. I called around and it’s only one pet store that sells bunnies in my area. It’s like 30min away from where I’m staying now. These videos are soooo helpful!!! You had the answer to every question I could think of. Thanks. 😊
hi morgan! i would love a video about the pros and cons of having a single rabbit!! i've had my bun for almost 2 years and shes super happy but i wonder if i'm doing something wrong by not getting her a partner. since CB is also a solo bunny, i would love to hear your thoughts on this!!!
I love your channel because even though you encourage free-roaming you never state “free roam or don’t get a bunny” like some other bunny RU-vidrs, and you give tips for everyone even those who (like me) are unable to free roam their bunnies 😊❤
unrelated, but i recently got my bunny and i also just bought this strawberry scented perfume and she started sniffing my hand and then started licking, and all of a sudden she bit my knuckle lmao
When is a good time to start trying to hold them? My Simba will literally run if I even motion to pick him up. I did just get him so we are still new to each other but any advice here would be great!
This one is for my brother. The supposed only reason he doesn't want a rabbit is that "you can't hold them like baby." But you can't really hold dogs or cats like baby either!
I always am happy with someone like you putting forth the effort to educate other people about bunnies. To me it's a relief that you show us your sincere concerns about how everyone of the us should also become aware of the plight of bunnies. And I know that you and others who have youtube bunny videos know that the lives of average bunnies can become precariously uncertain and there are some people who should just be locked up for being heartless when it comes to bunny rabbits. I will find myself crying sometimes when I think about my bunny Vinny Underfoot, and that one day he won't be there, and how devastating it will be for me, an otherwise headstrong, scarred up construction worker, who never knew how precious life was until my girlfriend brought our baby home to me almost 6 years ago. Thank you for your videos of kindness and caring towards bunnies...
Hey I'm looking into one day getting a bunny, watching your videos for info before making the big decision. Loving the videos, and I did notice some similarities between your advice for rabbits and my experience with guinea pigs (in terms of picking them up, I'm much more used to handling guinea pigs). Which I suppose makes sense considering they are both prey animals.
I’m a new bunny owner, and my bunny panics even if I just put my hand under his tummy, he was used to being picked up when he was a few weeks old, but after he got older he would squirm out of my hold, or just right when I put my hand underneath his tummy….
I have a three-month old Holland Lop bunny, and he hates being picked up period, but mostly after exercise time to be put back in his hutch at night. I don't have a ton of time each night to patiently wait for him to be okay with me picking him up. What should I do to avoid chasing him when he's always hopping away? He plays in a 4x4 fenced area now. I need to get him to his hutch at night. We got him at about 10 weeks from a breeder. Will it just take time? Any help is appreciated!
Do you have videos on how to brush your rabbit? If kind of hard If they won’t let you hold them more than 10 secs (especially for a baby lion-head) lol 😂
I never planned to ever have a bunny as a pet it wasn't even a consideration until one day I was coming home and saw a cage thrown at the side of the road with two bunnies one was already dead. Not even for a second I hesitated to take the cage with me home. I already got 5 cats that I would literally die for but I was in a situation that I can never leave the bunny left alone like that. Thankfully I got a big 2 bedroom house and guess what I re arrange one room entirely for the bunny I even called him Juno. I learned everything I could in few days about the bunny went on shopping sprees just to buy all the necessary and unnecessary stuff for him 😁😆😅. The room is so huge and it has great ventilation system which is good for his breathing since my cats are everywhere. Now, to my surprise, it took Juno just one day to be litter trained, and almost instantly when I allowed my cats to sniff him, he took the lead first and chased all my cats , rubbed his chin into almost everything he came across including me and my cats ( He claimed his territory at once ) never scared to be around them, he even flips and sleeps right in the middle of the living room while my cats roaming around, when he flipped infront on me the first time i almost had a heart attack, i thought he was dying but then I took it upon myself to learn everything I could about bunnies since he owned us so that's where he will be with us forever. Now I can tell what will make Juno happy. He does his air acrobats almost all morning 😃😄Juno, owned us and I am so glad I really saved him. He's tiny tinny baby bunny but has a personality larger than life
You should try picking up my little bunny three weeks ago I caught a wild little bunny at jack rabbit bunny they call it a deer face that bunny rabbit he is so cute and lovely and he does not like being picked up whatsoever he grunts LOL
My first bunny he let me hold him under my arm and he would rest his paws on my fingers, he sadly passed due to health issues, he was having seizures, but he lived a great life. I have a new one she's abt 6 months and she likes to be held up on the chest and I am not comfortable with that I would rather hold her under my arm. What should I do.
Of course you can hold your bunny as much as you want it depends on each bunny, that’s rubbish to say you can only pick it up once or twice a week , what’s the point in having one if you can cuddle it
Aucatl fun face dog don't like to heald to huge cause to them that mean you creating alfa over them but some are okay with some will snap at you though
Cunnabun is an Angel💕 I just hope my boy Fuzzy doesn't gets freaked out when I do hold him (only when needed) I'll be trying this! Thank you for this 💜 P.S: I can't help but comment that I just love love L°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°ve how your hair is! You're so cute & beautiful ❤️
Thank you for this video! I have a 7 month holland lop and I've tried multiple times to pick him up, however I feel as if he's just one of those bunnies that don't like to be picked up! Is there any recommendations you have? Overall, I just want him to be comfortable and make sure he's safe!
Thank you so much my bunny is really scared last time so I gave him about a year because I didn’t want him to be scared so this really helps and I am actually scared myself to pick him up because he scratches me but that was once and I don’t want to hurt him ❤❤❤
A friend of ours gifted me a bunny on Friday! I had no idea lol and therefore nothing in the house for him. So Saturday I went to a local pet store and got essentials, mostly 😆, but who can resist toys?? I've named him Bolt after the Olympic sprinter. He moves so fast. Bolt is only a baby but he is very cuddly. Climbs onto my feet for cuddles or pats. Amazing! We have a pigeon and have learned to read her body language. I'm doing the same thing with Bolt. I am getting better already at the bathroom sign...but sometimes not quick enough 🤔😄. Your videos are extremely helpful to me as I've never expected to own a bunny. Thank you!
oh my gosh nooo!! my previous rabbit bun-bun was really sweet and liked cuddles, but we would always lay her on her backside on our laps, we thought she liked it because she never squirmed 😭 I feel so bad now!
I am in a wheelchair and can't pick up my buns from the floor by myself. I cuddle and groom on my bed I wonder if you have any ideas that will help me in this e? Thanks, Debra, daddy Brett, Coco, and Frodo.
dogs don't like excessive cuddling either. some dogs barely tolerate / seek it. i think you meant cats there,,, but again even cats like cuddles only in moderation. no animal likes excessive cuddling tbh.
My lil bunnies wriggle so much when I try to lift them even for a second so I've been avoiding trying to pick them up. Hoping that these practice sessions will help them feel okay with it! I feel so bad for them when they get wriggly that I gave up for ages and now they're even worse at being lifted. Ahhhh - patience and practice here we come..
I recently got two young rabbits (sisters) and they are totally different. One is pretty fine with being picked up, but would rather be left alone. She is incredibly curious and adventurous, into everything! Her sister is the exact opposite and tends to hide away if she can, most of the time. They do both seem to like playing chase with my dog. There are plenty of hiding places where they can get away from her, but they keep coming out and even nudge her if she gets bored! And they're WAY too fast for her to catch most of the time.
Thankyou for educating me on how to carry bun properly, love your jewellery too. Where did u get the 2nd small flower chain and rings from? I’ve been looking for cute pieces too but don’t know which is good.
Love the video my bunny that looks exactly like urs but my bunny thinks he is the alpha dog with my two dogs and he likes to not listen but cuddle a lot then try to make his own rules. He acts more like a pup then a rabbit my gf spoils him so much I think that’s why. But he is just the sweetest thing
This video is awesome! I still haven’t been able to hold my bunny! She so scared when I come close To those areas? Am I a bad bun mum? I just don’t like seeing her freaked out
