My favorite lobster story is when my buddy phrank was out in maine on a small fishing boat. He was with a few buddies and they ended up catching like 20 lobsters there was a huge one he said that weighed 12 pounds that sucker almost got away too he said.

Do people use snares for lobsters as well or traps? Or just hoop nets are allowed?

Thanks for watching 🤙🏽 No snares for lobster - unfortunately it’s not legal to keep any caught on rod & reel in California, even if legal size. You’re allowed to catch them by hand (without any tools) if you dive for them or by hoop net from shore, pier or boat.
