Hi, so me and my friend have tried this, and the server doesn't pop up. We both play on steam and we have tried using steam to invite each other but we get an error message or it doesn't work when we try that. Any idea how to fix it? Thank you in advance!
for some reason when me and my wife do this we cant join the person who host. so we do see the server created but cant get in it. can you pls let me know how to solve this? we both play on epic game launcher
It sounds like it might be an issue with port forwarding. Here's a link to a very detailed video that should be able to help you, start at 21:44 and then 25:55 if that doesn't work and let me know either way because I'll keep trying to figure it out for you. When wildcard shuts down all official servers for ASE i would like to save my game and play on a server with my family but we're not sure how to do this how to transfere our base over we all have the new xbox i hope you can help thank you
@@eve1183 Hey I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier, so you're trying to transfer over your literal base or just items and dinos? I just re-read and unfortunately I don't believe you can upload items or dinos from official to single player, it would have to be unofficial as far as I know but I'll absolutely do some research and try to help anyway because I'm not 100% and I'm sorry I don't have a definitive answer for you! I'll try to find one

hey could you help me? Im playing ark with my xbox game pass as well as my friend and we cant join our non dedicated server it always says "Join Failed" do you have a solution?
@@demoniccrunk same here. I'm setting it up on my PC and she's trying to join from Xbox one x. it won't pop up on any of the server filters and when I send her an invite from the esc menu it always says join failed
my brother created a session, but the session doesn't pop up for my screen. I filter out the name to exact server name and set the filter thingy to non-dedicated arks. we both play on Nintendo switch BTW
Is he making is password protected, by chance? There's another box to check to show password protected servers and if that's not the case I'll keep trying to find the answer!
i just got this game, love dinosaurs and watned to play for the first time...NOTHING WORKS WHEN I CLICK HOST\LOCAL...i just wanna play the game..is there a career mode or something ? i click the tsotf option or whatever its called and it takes me to a page where it says no servers...and i click the refresh button and same message pops up...i just wanna play the game 😔
Me and my wife are playing on a Non dedicatet server i am the host but i get only 40 to 60 fps. Is there a fix for it or some tricks to get more fps? In my SP world i get around 130 to 160 fps. My specs are a Amd ryzen 9 5900x with 32gb 3200 mhz ram and a RTX 3080ti. I dont want to pay money for a server.

I hosted a non dedicated server and am playing on ark through PC xbox and my brother is playing on xbox but when i invite him it he tells me that it says join failed
@@demoniccrunk I think I figured it out, its that his verions is like 192.6 I think but mine is at 192.5 so in assuming thats why but I dont know when the xbox app on PC updates ARK
Friend's end (hosting): -Can create all server types, My end: can't join them (Connection timed out) My end (hosting): the "accept" and "cancel" button do the same thing, creation of server impossible
so me and my friends played like this for like 3 months and then now out of nowhere they can't find my server and i can't find theirs its on nondedicated all maps and everything pls someone help
@@demoniccrunk yes other servers do show up we all have it set to non dedicated all maps and all modes and here is the strange thing we all see different servers i have no idea what the problem is but it seems to get resolved when they restart their pc and i just make my server

Honestly, I don't think that it does but I'm not 100% I think if you "cheat destroywilddinos" that it will erase and replace them all actively though when they start popping back in but don't quote me on that lol!
When you go and click host non dedicated, your friend can't also select host or they'll make their own world and not join yours, it's easiest to send them an invite to your game after you started it
@@eci21 hey, unfortunately i gave up hosting non-dedicated and private servers when whatever what we did was not working, so we've found empty servers to play on (and if you don't have addons it works, just find descriptions which state steam/epic

So for sure don't have any mods loaded and then actually there's a few steps you can take to make sure he can see it, this video explains it well but if you still don't get it working I'll for sure keep trying to help! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CyBT0UF0DpY.html From my understanding you have to disable battleye and can add a -crossplay in your stream startup for Ark or into your files and if it doesn't show up still you can join via the console by type "open server-ip" not the words server ip but whomever's you're trying to join!!
You know tbh I’ve never tried split screen but I imagine on a console yes, the tether would be the same as you set it. I’m not 100% though so if you try it out and it’s different, please let me know!
Doesn’t work any trick to delete tether Distance on split screen bc me and my buddy. Want to pvp each other but can’t run 100m away from the other person
I believe it'd make your friend automatically install them but if that doesn't work yeah he should manually, as long as you're both able to install mods it should work!

New player here and only played the island but my SO and I want to start a non dedicated server soon on a new map I’m on ps5 and she’s on a ps4pro for 1 is it still possible for her to still join my ps5 server and 2 will all her progress and player be saved to the server. We got ASE recently for free and want to stay on it due to my SO not having a ps5 for ASA.

I just tried to load my nondedicated server on xbox and it said i needed a subscription. I didn't need one before. DO you know if there was an update made my the game developers? I called Xbox and they said it was up to the developers.
Were you playing with the Gamepass version and the sub to that ran out? I'm not finding anything about Wildcard in terms of an update to that but I'll keep checking.
hi, me and my friend have been playing a non dedcated server for about 40 in game games but there are alot of randoms joing but i dont have privet ticked but if i tick it should no randoms be able to join. and also when i go into the admin menu and scroll down in server info it pops up with server password, server admin password and spectator password but only server admin password is set how do i set the server password and what will it do ?
OMG, bro I'm so sorry for not answering this earlier! Did you get the info you needed? I believe for example on my Nitrado server, I could set it to crossplay but then just not use mods and I apologize for not replying much, much sooner.
Yes, on the Steam version at you can set it super high and have it not be an issue though but you will be tethered either way. You can experiment with how far away before they ricochet back to you though to get a feel for it lol
I feel it, I wish they'd extend it too tbh but try typing 1000 and hoping for the best or maybe finding a lowly populated unofficial PC server in the meantime, I wish I was more help but hope you have fun!
@@demoniccrunk kinda, you can go on single player and then host a non dedicated session, my brother was able to join (both on switch). So it worked but not how you described it.

Hi, I'm a PS4 player and I can't invite my friend on my non dedicated server. We have tried several times on different maps, but whenever he receives an inventation, the game won't let him join! Do you have any idea what's the deal about it? It already worked in the past when we were living together :/
How do u join a server that is privated, because i wanna play modded ark with my friends (we are both on laptop/pc and we have the same mods downloaded and we wanna play private server together).
You can pay to host your own server through G Portal or Nitrado/I'm sure there are others, or you can both search for unofficial/non dedicated servers to join you jus thave to filter what you want in bottom left of the screen when you're looking for new servers
It's saying this when you hit "Accept" to start your server? Are you trying to type in any symbols like "!@#$%^&*()_+?" when you're setting it up in either the password or server name? It will only work with any letters A-Z and all the numbers, but no symbols. Let me know if that helps!
Oh I see, yeah as far as I know Epic can only play with Epic users, Steam with Steam and so on but if anyone happens sees this and knows differently please correct me!
