Ahhh, the sweet moment when it clicks and suddenly the thing youve been struggling with makes sense. Thanks for the video!

This method is the cleanest, easiest and best way to sew a collar with a collar stand. Thank you!

💚🖤 You are an excellent explainer of complicated processes. I had to watch twice because I got lost (my confusion) but it makes sense and I think I understand how to do my next collared dress. TY!

I have studied at least 6 videos showing how to sew a shirt collar with the stand and this is by far one of the best if not THE best. I like it that you don't add unnecessary comments. You also know how to make it look professional with your little hints.

Hallelujah ! A collar stand/collar tutorial that is clear, concise and most importantly makes sense. I haven’t put in this sort of collar for some time and couldn’t quite get my head round the best way to do it - the pattern instructions were useless. I looked at many methods on RU-vid but just found the majority convoluted and confusing (I’m feeling a bit addled 🥴), I should have checked you out first. You always make sense 👍😃😺🐩🐢

Thank you for this fantastic video! I’ve been stuck on a project (even though I made the exact same shirt a few years ago) and could not understand the written pattern instructions; probably exacerbated by the fact that I’m left handed. I’m happy to report - I’ve moved successfully beyond the collar - only with your helpful video!

Brilliant video. I think your tip about not trimming too much at the ends will really help me the next time I attempt a collar. These are the little details that give a really neat finish.

Thank you, I can't imagine there's a better video for putting together a collar. Easy to follow for a first timer and mine worked fabulously! I almost skipped cutting off 1/8 inch of each piece, but it actually wasn't hard and it worked exactly as intended.

That you for such a complete and concise explanation of this collar and collar stand. I’m trying to make the saraste dress form the breaking the pattern book, and for me there just isn’t enough explanation for me to flow or understand. Maybe I’m a bit slow on the update but your very visual explanation is so clear, I’m sure I’m not going to have a problem now. Thanks again, btw liked and subscribed 👍

I’ll definitely come back to this whenever I tackle my first collar. I also really love how all these tutorials are self-contained. There’s no “as I explained in video X” or “look there for how to do this tiny step in between”. It might make things look redundant while we watch them all in one go but for referencing just one technique in the future it’s golden. I can’t tell you how many tutorials I’ve given up on because they required me to click to other videos multiple times. Great job!

Thank-you for this tutorial, it's like someone plugged in a nightlight in a dark room who's floor is strewn with Lego pieces. Fitting the stand to the shirt of several commercial patterns has become simpler and not so anxiety inducing--I appreciate your times sharing this gem. I have a request, could you do this tutorial in the future but showing your sewing (even sped up is cool), and maybe contrasting fabric? I had to watch the video over and over, along with moving the pieces of the shirt I'm working on around to make better sense of what I was seeing.

Great 👍 once again ! I shall save this and follow it step by step as I like this method very much . I hate the fact patterns do not show the best and simple way to attach collars also I detest that different patterns have different methods and this is so confusing 🤪 so I choose SIAN ‘S way 😍 Much appreciated dear xx

Forgot how much I love collar/collar stands!!!! Question to you.....For the interfaced pieces, do you have them underneath as the collar will lay or on top i.e. against your skin. For this round I put it underneath, thinking the stiffer side should hold things up as they were....if that makes any sense LOL
@KittenishBehaviourSian
@KittenishBehaviourSian 2 года назад
I do mention which bits go where in the video (at least I think I do 🤣) ......just checked and I do! So the interfaced collar stand goes on the outside of the garment and the uninterfaced one goes against your skin. The interfaced collar piece is on top of the collar (the collar piece that will be visible when you wear it). Hope that makes sense....I always struggle with written directions 🤣

@@KittenishBehaviourSian Oh good that's what I did. It definitely does NOT say that in the pattern instructions. My old brain is working on it's own...so that's a win! Hoping to finish it today and wear it to work tomorrow.

I always have problems getting the stand to match up with the button band, this method looks like a foolproof solution! By any chance do you have a written tute (with Pics?) as it's easier to refer to than a video? Thanks for the instructions.
