That was awesome, never could figure out the actual weights without trying to lift it and saying "just enough". Thanks!!!!! I run a 97lb future 3 made by Delta but I've mostly been a farrier for the last 18 years, luckily the entire base is aluminium so I get that extra size as a benefit. I feel there are a lot of little facts like this that would interest any trade that may use an anvil. Happy Forging!!!
If its a Hay Budden, the 6 numbers stamped on the front of the foot are the serial number. You can look these up for the year it was made. The weight was stamped on right hand side below the hay budden name, at about the waist level or there abouts.
I believe you are correct in both aspects...that they are US made and that they stamped are in pounds, not stones. I believe i learned this in the old Hay Budden literature found online, but i could be mistaken where discovered this.
