the blisters part was on point, when I took a lesson with clay I was so amused with the new stuff that I got some bruises on my fingers hahaha amazing video, really liked the edit! one thing that I would add (for me and for everyone that is trying this) is to train using metronomes and some percussion rudiments, so the timing and movements feel more natural!

Was a great video only one question, upstroke or downstroke makes any difference? just cause I find it more natural and easy to do downstroke, but if has to do with a better technique I start doing upstrokes

ive adopted clay G's style and been using it in my writing for about a year now.... didn't know the first dead note was a slap. i thought it was down stroke, upstroke, pop. thanks for the video !

as someone who learned this wrong (for some reason I tried to start with a downstroke, innately from slapping, always tried to get the sound that comes from the right hand sometimes from the left). It’s so tricky to unlearn the way I know, but I know that it’ll be worth it. I’d def love really rudimentary exercises, as I’m finding actual fretted notes are much challenging to play within that sort of quadruplet motion

yea i know but for some reason i struggle to play those. sometimes my fingers hit the wrong strings or i just hit them without popping.

Ik this is probably a dumb question but what kind of gauges do you use? or what type of pedals do you use? It's mostly because I got the technique down going slowly for the first two weeks and will increase in tempo overtime but I don't get that exact tone that I hear you or clay have

I play through a DAW with Neuraldsp’s Parallax plugin for all of my videos! For string gauges I use 45-130 nickel strings, but I have seen that Clay uses heavier gauges on their tech’s TikTok. Hope that helps :)
