How to ID Gulls - Part 1 

Herring Gulls are a highly variable species and I discuss features and pointers to try to eliminate Yellow-legged Gull. The culprits are, I believe 2 large Argentatus sp, 2CY (second calendar year - so hatched last year).

Still worries me my bird has too little pale in the wing and looks a lot like this YLG

But as I checked thru all the LYG plumages, I stick by my hunch it's just an Argentatus
