I found one here in Canada. It's quite heavy, attracted to magnetism, looks like a lump of nickel. This was on a road that had been closed off for many year's.There are very small rust looking markings on it.Thanks for helping me with identifying it.Fascinates me.Perhaps I can photograph it and send you a copy.
Hey my name is Kenny Smith. I believe I may have two meteorites. I found one while excavating to build my home in upstate SC in a township called Lake Wylie. This sample was for about 3 feet deep in red clay. My equipment hit it and I was concerned it was a pipe or some underground utility component. The other sample was picked up from a home that I was appraising for the bank. Both attract a magnet both are heavy for their size and both have nickel.
I checked out your video this morning because 15 minutes ago I spotted an extremely unusual rock which I thought might be Bassant but it looks like it’s been burnt to a point that the surface has melted. It’s also magnetic and where this crust is lifted there’s rust and small microbubbles…
I’ve heard that meteorites that have fallen to earth a long time ago some millions of years ago often have a reddish rust to them because the heated shell eventually erodes off and the iron shows its rust corrosion. Is this true??
I am from India and I saw the light hitting on earth and I run towards the spot and found the hot heated rock .. it's almost 1.780 grams. How do I sell this and whom do I contact
I found an Interesting rock on my old playground that looked similar to the second to last rock that he threw out... If is in middle Tennessee, but the weird thing is that there is volcanic glass that is scattered all over the playground... small fragments and I was in trouble and was sitting on a bench and I’d figure that I would find something if I dug a small hole beneath me with my hands and I had found a rock like this. :3 idk I lost it
I was fishing off Cape May, New Jersey on a commercial clam boat. When this item came up from the bottom of the sea it looks like a meteor or maybe some kind a rock I’m not sure but it’s black smooth on one side in the other half is almost like a dark yellow goldish color.
Hello there. I've been hunting meteorites since a child with my Uncle who was a gemologist...how can I send you a couple of pics?? I have found 1 that was tested and determined to be one and is now in a museum. However I am unsure of the one i have now....

What you said is not true : Most meteorites contain a significant amount of Fe-Ni metal, and are attracted to a magnet. But there are many exceptions of stony meteorites that contain no metal and are not attracted to a magnet , i have myself lot of meteorites who are not attracted by magnets .
I do blacksmithing and have a very high end oven for melting metals. I wanted to see if i could make a fake meteorite that could be tested and passed off as a real one. Not for Fraud reasons but to see if it could be done. I did it, and it passed a professional examination. It was surprisingly easy.
I would highly doubt that It would pass testing How would you go about the widmanstatten pattern Regardless of the nickel iron ratio or exterior characteristics
@@Spacepeanut80 Like i said it was easy. If you drop it 1 degree a minute it allows for individual crystallization for each metal. The exterior characteristics were made using a high temp ceramic mold. All the ingredients i used were a mix of granular/powder. The whole process took a couple days. The exterior crust was flash heating the outside and dunking it in water several times.
I have a tick given to me in Tanzania that a geologists aid was a meteorite. It’s very heavy and shiny almost like a piece of chrome but not smooth. He-said is a super rare one . Who knows. Where can I send a photo??
I found one in a very large stone collection after months of investigation I took it to the local museum and they had it certified by a university gemologist I was offered a small amount but held on to it and after 20 years I still have it
I purchased some tektites from Thailand but they are not stick to a magnet & some Libyan desert glasses but they are not stick to a magnet as well; Are they all fake ones?
I'm almost 100% Shure I found one on the beach it is black and shiny I sand papers a edge of it and saw something that looked like gold probably iron or steel
Not all meteorites look like the ones you have displayed. They come in various colors and textures! Some meteorites actually look like everyday rocks and unless you know what you’re looking for they will hide themselves in plain sight very easily.
I picked up some stones in Philippines and need help to indentify for this stone.I test some stone have mangnetic on it I use the small mangnetic and it hold it and I put one pera stand on the stone. Now I send the photo to u and please inform this message by return to proof it Is it meteorite Thank you❤️
But what if that meteorite was laying on ground let's say -for about 100 years? Could that crust come off leving just weird looking rusty stone surface?
I have a few fragments about 2 inch or more of something that passes everything. Even the white lines and glass or crystal spot. Keeping in mind its fragments of something larger. It seems the color of the rock is dark black . Is it possible that it's just a really thick black crust that broke off?
Having little knowledge of meteorites, Im almost certain I have found one. Its description is that of a dark colored (blackish) heavy stone that has a darker colored thin exterior "eggshell" lining. There are identions on the bottom that are a darker brown color. Its shaped almost as if the corner of a square cakepan was used for a mold. Then was poured in as a liquid then hardened .After it cooled, a corner piece was broken off. There are several small "airpockets" on the inside, and the remains of an insect of some sort rests inside of a larger "airpocket". I have gotten all information by watching Utube videos,. Its really an interesting piece of ???.Ancient Outer Space???
I have gathered meteorite which I believe were Graphite in original form before hitting the Cordilleran Ice Shelf which caused the Younger Dryas Period catastrophe event around 12,800 years ago. These meteorites turned into what I call Nano Impact Diamonds Roughs. So when it comes to the magnet test it won't work on non iron variety meteorites. Thank you for a great video.
Hello, I am Mahmoud Mohammadi. A friend of mine claims to have found a meteorite. How can I get help from you to find out if it is real? Thank you for your answer
I have a usual amount of meteorites on my property in Texas. Moon meteorites, sun meteorite, mars too. If you're interested in viewing some let me know.
I once was getting high at night on an old country road when a streak of red fell a few yards in front of the car scared the hell out of me but now i wanna go find it with a metal detector
WHAT ABOUT THE LITTLE METEORITES THAT YOU CAN BUY ONLINE ARE THOSE REAL? I BOUGHT ONE SIZE OF MAYBE A THUMBNAIL AND IT HAS A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. IT LOOKS LIKE ABOUT PEACE OF ALUMINUM POSSIBLY MAYBE LEAD AND A LITTLE BIT TOGETHER. MORE METAL THAN ROCK FOR SURE. DO YOU THINK I GOT DUPED???
Meteorites can ABSOLUTELY have Vesicles, especially ones from LAVA Asteroids And not all Meteorites are magnetic, there are Venus Meteorites that have Iron and some Venus Meteorites with Zero Iron. There Meteorites attached to Gems from Space Either deep to light green, blues, purples. This guy just hasn't collected them yet and sounds a bit closed minded 🙄
@Dr. K Are you Aware, that your RU-vid Profile Picture is a Picture and Symbolism of Evil Pharaohs Eye? Do you worship this enemy of mankind? it is the 2nd most powerful Jinn underneath Shaytan our #1 Enemy... I am Muslim, but i also follow Book of Deuteronomy and Book of Exodus (International Versions are more Authentic) and They warn us and command us to NOT worship Evil Eye or Dajjal or Shaytan
I stumbled upon a large rock on the edge of a river in Montana that sounds like metal when struck and a magnet sticks to it in areas. Some spots stronger than others. It's smooth and dark gray but has been in a river for a long time. My online research guess is basalt but was hoping meteorite. Is there an easy way to tell which it is?
I have found a rock that when I took a picture of it with Google lens it came back meteorite ,it sticks to a magnet and feels very heavy but I really don't see a crust. What do you think.
My dog dug a 12 inch deep hole in the ground in my backyard in Fullerton Ca. and I noticed one strange looking black rock sitting on the pile of dirt he kicked out. It's heavy for it's size and a magnet sticks to it and it has these really cool ridge lines going down one side of it that really look like they were made when this thing was hot and moving
Hi, my dad found a rock that looks like a meteorite too. I am so curious about it if it's really a meteorite. I tried to visit the said website but the website is not available.
can you help me identify my stone, it's too heavy, withoit bubbles, i broke it and have crystals like inside. i'll check again if it attracks with magnets,. looking for a magnet
I found two burned stones the size of a quarter at the creek with visible egg shell fusion crust They are burned to a crisp with visible flow marks. Stones are black and grey with Small metal flecks all over the stones.
