Hi, In this mentioned when two vowels comes in words should pronounce first vowel as short, u gave à example pumpkin. Even pump we pronounce short vowel may I know the reason?
Hi, 'Pump' is a one syllable word (has one vowel sound) and also note that it is a closed syllable word. Please watch the first tip for 'short vowel sound' and sixth tip for 'long vowel sound' (Eg : hand, sent, bunch).
