Thanks again for your service! I've never served but I have several family members and ancestors who did. I thought this was a good topic since many of us will visit cemeteries on Memorial Day weekend.

Charles Bessey was my great great grandfather! He had a Medal of Honor for the Indian Wars. His tombstone shows up at the end! That was a surprise!

Thanks, Darcy! I'd love to explore some cemeteries up in Canada sometime. I have family near the border in Washington, but it's gonna be a while before I can get up there again.

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm not particularly interested in war, but the individual soldier's stories and tidbits like this intrigue me. I'll get cracking on that video! Hey, thanks for watching!

Yes, on the next video. Nicely narrated and edited video. My dad's marker has a small medallion indicating that he was a vet of WWII. It wasn't part of my design, it was added, with my permission, by the cemetery staff.

How nice that the cemetery asked to add the medallion for your father. So glad you enjoyed the video. I learn by doing, so hopefully each video will be a little better than the last. :)

Interesting video Tui.Like Debbie i learned about the different style markers, US military historie. Think that the month of may refers to the fallen soldiers who fought in WW2.In Europe in may most countries have days to remember the people who died in WW2.In the Netherlands we remember the people who died on may 4.Have a ceremony followed by putting flowers ( wreaths, bouquets, etc. in white or red/white.blue (Dutch flag)).At 20.00 pm we have 2 minutes of silence to remember the people who lost their lives.Looking forward for more interesting videos Tui. Thanks for sharing.I vote yes.

I love the history! I did not realize there were more deaths in the civil war. I have done extensive ancestry research for my family. This video is really helpful!

I was so surprised about Civil War deaths, too. In fact, when a historian first told me that, I didn't believe her! I'm so glad you found this video helpful. That's great you've done so much ancestry research. I'd like to do more, as well. Thanks for watching! :)

Oh, wow! "libingan ng mga bayani" is a Filipino military cemetery, right? I've never been to the Philippines, but I'd love to go. (Last time I was on a cruise, I made friends with some Filipinos and learned a tiny bit of Tagalog.) I'll be sure to check out your channel, too. Thanks for watching!
