I lucked out big time at a local yard sale. A nice lady sold me 12 pairs of Guess jeans and jean shorts, all legitimate, all made prior to 1993, all for 50 cents each. Most are in my size too! Thanks for helping me figure out the eras.
My grandma recently gave me some guess jeans that were hers. I have corduroy ones (blue and green) and some that’s have the triangle on the back pocket that say guess washed jeans with the question mark symbol :o
i only have 1 guess piece in my closet and is this black denim jacket with contrasting tripple stitching. the care tag is similar to the one with the founder's name on it, but mine's without the name. the jacket is labeled as workwear, and made in usa. the stye is like a combination of levi's type 2 and type 3 jacket. the DSN is #D67-62W. i supposed its made in the late 80s early 90?
Hi there. Can you help me date a pair of jeans I thrifted. I have a pair of Guess jeans with a "Made in Canada" Label, A Guess? tag on the front pocket and a black triangle Guess tag on the back pocket. The Style number is 121004. It would be fantastic if these were vintage but I honestly have no clue. Thanks in advance for your help. Great video by the way!!
i have a ripped denim pants with black leather patches over the knee, there's a sewed in tag at the back saying "GUESS" at the left and "Los Angeles 1981" on the right. I just found these in my attic treasure hunt so i was curious lol
I just picked up a guess vest from my local opshop (im from Melbourne, australia) The vest is button up and has eyelets on the side with what i would expect to be brown leather string. The tag says a Georges Marciano deisgn. Made in canada. CA 20625. Style 790701 Cut 00313. There is a grid, the grid lines are green and the GUESS writing over the grid is red. There is no triangle but it does have a small tag on the pocket "guess ?" Are you able to help me? Thank you in advance 👐
Have a corduroy jacket with a tag labeled “Tommy hilfiger denim” instead of hilfiger denim, furthermore it doesn’t have the classic flag anywhere on the clothing and was wondering if anyone could help me price it
I just picked up 2 pairs with the green grid tag that says by george marciano but theyre made in mexico so would you say thats definitley 97 thanks for the video
Extremely helpful video. Thank you! I have jeans with the red grid tag that has Georges Marciano’s name on it, the guess triangle on the back with a question mark as you showed, 100% cotton and made in Canada. When do you think they were made? Thank you!!!!!
Glad it was helpful! It's curious that it was made in Canada. My guess is that it was produced between 89-93. When Guess first started out they had a contracts for sewing with factories in USA and Asia. So I doubt that the earliest pairs were stitched in Canada. As Guess grew I'm sure that factories in Canada were part of bringing their jeans to market in the good ol' Great North. Thanks for watching!
I have a blazer that has a wide tag that just says Guess® Collection with a yellow underline. What year range would that be? I'm having a hard time finding it!
I have a thrifted Guess Premium Denim Jean Jacket that was manufactured in Turkey I purchased it about 12 years ago. I thought it was a vintage because the back label is completely washed off. I’m trying to find models like it to date it and I get no where. Help please!
Thank you for this useful information! I have a shirt with the red grid tag, marked size 3. It measures 25.5 inches armpit to arm pit. Do you have any idea what that might be compared to?
I think I have in the past, seen reversible jackets by GUESS? that, of course, would not have a label inside, but did have a red, capital G on the outside of the garment. Is this an actual GUESS? item or a knockoff or not GUESS at all?
Yes, Guess did reversibles. What you are describing sounds like a y2k era jacket. The label is likely inside the pockets. I've noticed some more attention on this era recently. Coming back in style I suppose.
I have a pair of guess jeans that I’m trying to figure out if they’re vintage. They’ve got rhinestone’s in the place of the triangle. Like they’re in in the triangle shape. Any ideas? They’re made in Mexico & have a style number that’s not coming up. The tag doesn’t have the name on it though. Just Guess Los Angeles
Hi I was wondering if anyone knows when mine where made the logo on the pocket is a brown with guess large at the top and a tiny USA then a ? Under it largely and the tag is bland and only says GUESS Los Angeles on it
Hi I got some guess jeans and the tag is red and says “Guess ? Jeans” and the back has a brown patch and it says in red writing “Authentic Original Jeans Guess” and it also says Established 1981 the tag also says made in Mexico. Do you think it’s actually authentic and vintage?
this video was a lifesaver, my gf got a pair for $2 that we just couldn't find any info about online (red "Guess ? jeans" tag inside, made in america, no back pockets and no triangle) and this is the first thing we've found that actually gave us any real way to estimate when they're from. Great video, dude.
hi! i have a blue sweater that has red stitching saying “guess” and the tag only says “guess? tm jeans” and it is made in hong kong. i’ve been trying to find it online but i can’t! do you know if it is vintage?
Hey ! I have a question, I could not find a guess jeans dress anywhere on the Internet, the tag on the top says, since 1981 guess jeans® quality garment, the bottom tag has a very strange code that I can’t find anywhere, here is the code J12722-C1P-W0-M07-N, I will be very grateful to you if you help me! somehow with this dress!
Thanks for your video! I bought a pair of Guess crop low rise jeans today which I really like. The red label says Guess Jeans with a star on either side. I looked online and saw a Guess denim dress with the same label and it said early 2000s. Mine is made in Macau- when did Guess move its manufacturing to Macau do you know?
Awesome! Guess has had some production in Asia since the early days, but exactly when they produced in Macau is hard to say. From your description it sounds like a late 90s/2000s piece. Thanks for watching!
It does mean something, unfortunately, we don't have a database as to what... haha. There are lots of style numbers, but I haven't noticed a particular patter. Sorry! Thanks for watching!
I just thrifted guess jeans, they are definitely vintage and have the red grid on them. They actually still have the orginal tag sewed on them still 😮 idk how they made it this long like it. I almost don’t wanna wear them. So my question is I’m wondering if I can date these pants ? It says made in Canada and I can’t find any information about guess making jeans in Canada. Or when it stopped Thanks for the awesome video.
I have a black label I don't know how to attach pics here but its black thin, horizontal with white almost, but not quite cursive Guess slanted to the right Guess is underlined the jean use is not underlined.
Great video! Do you know when / if they've stopped producing in Mexico? I have a Mexico made jacket and I'm having a hell of a time finding anything beyond that they started manufacturing in Mexico in the late 90s. It does say "assembled in Mexico of USA components" under the collar label. Care tag says made in Mexico, no grid and no Georges. Thanks!
If you'd like you can send me some photos to lootfam1@gmail.com. I have a theory that the phrase "assembled in Mexico of USA components" was mostly used shortly after the outsourcing of the textile production to mexico to kind of "save face" and make americans less upset.
Can't really nail down an exact year but if it has this tag it's before 93. If It's a menswear item I believe it would most likely be from 86-93. Thanks!
@@LootFam Thank you somuch sir, I cant really find the same exact picture of what I bought in the thrift store. Its a paisley looking like a denim long sleeve polo GUESS
Thank you for this. I have a black crushed velvet skirt with guess by georges marciano, made in USA, but no triangle or question mark. Gorgeous piece. It's incredibly small haha, I'd love to pinpoint the exact year but its been difficult.
I have a pair that I’m trying to find more of, it doesn’t have the triangle on the pocket but has a sorta stitched on tag off the side of the back pocket that says guess and the tag in the pants is black with guess in red. The tag that would say the style and year is all worn out with nothing readable, they’re the softest and smoothest feeling denim pants I’ve ever had and can’t find more
I have a question regarding some jeans i picked up at a goodwill. They say made in Brazil and are size 34's. Style number AST060SH 100% cotton. The logo says "AUTHENTIC ORIGINAL DESIGN" and there is a white question mark logo on the right pocket in a little bit of black cloth that has been stitched in. Any idea of when these could have been produced?
G by Guess started in 2007 as a diffusion line for a younger demographic. Not yet in the realm of vintage and also lower quality. They may still be worth reselling or picking up but I'm not familiar enough with the line to be sure. Great question!
I have a long pants and shirt said guess jeans at the shirt made in Korea and guess los Angeles made in korea also for the long pants... Does they authentic? Please advise.. Tx bro
