In this video we are going to look at DOM APIs and try to implement those on our own. In this process of doing so, we will code a high level programming question asked in senior frontend interviews. We are going to create our own abstractions of Document, Node, and implement methods like createElement, appendChild, and many more. So, check it out!

Please make video on advanced webpack configuration and tricks like source mapping. Also lot of experienced developers are looking for advanced performance content. It's hard to come by them. Mainly we learn by playing and trying things out. Also thanks for your videos!

Hi Yomesh, This seems like a really good question to ask. The question can test candidate on OOP, DOM API and the dreaded recurssion. I liked the way you broke down the entire tasks to each instruction and built everything in sequential order. Thanks for sharing this video. Keep up the good work.

At what level of seniority these kind of questions are generally asked for a frontend role ?
@DevtoolsTech

Mostly it starts from SDE2 / Senior Frontend Engineer.

Honestly. Asking such questions are of no use. You ask a guy to implement a product that makes sense but if you ask them to implement Chrome and solve this problem 😅 makes no sense. Understanding the prototype chain and fundamentals of how these nodes and elements are created should suffice.

To be honest, it is a mix bag. It is a good problem solving question. It actual forces you to think and allows interviewer to check how you structure/write your code. There are multiple rounds in an interview so checking Prototype chaining, fundamentals can be done in a separate Interview round.

@pawan verma. This question is not a beginner level question. This question really tests your OOPS, DOM strength, problem solving, recursion etc. These are the questions that differentiate a stack overflow copy paster to real developer
