Also MMC cards, somewhat compatible to SD. Many digicams also have miniUSB ports and you can just plug the camera to USB and read through cable too. Some also have proprietary cables.
The HAMA can read MMC as well but I haven't encountered any yet...😁 Often the cameras don't come with cables when buying them second hand. Hence, having a good card reader is the most convenient option. I've had issues with the computer not recognizing the camera even though it's connected via USB.
@@ccderik yes yes, and usually card reader is much faster in copying too. But for example my 2004 Casio QVR40 uses SD/MMC cards and also has USBmini port and is powered by pair of AAs, so you can use it for decades to go probably :)))
I have a pretec dc 526 and it doesn't have a memory card/SD card just internal storage. I'm pretty sure I have to use the cable (USB type B) to transfer files. However the camera is too old for my laptop to recognize it. I've downloaded the required driver from pretec but it's too old for my computer to run😭😭 do you perhaps know how I could access the pictures?
