I'm an 85 year old great great granny that has been playing with computers since the 80's when the first IBM clones came out. Love my computers. Been playing WoW for the last 15 years, and have been using GSE for a number of years. Lost with the new changes. This video is a big help.

I really appreciate your contribution. My hands are all mangled up due to age related problems. I panicked when all of my GSE macros disappeared this morning after opening WOW for the first time after reset. I'm sure that this will be a lot of fun to figure all of this out. Love the video. Short, but detailed. I ran into this issue yesterday when I tried to use the new GSE for the 1st time. Importing was fairly straight forward, but the format on the new discord was a bit confusing. I went to TWW BM Hunter and took me a bit to figure out exactly what to copy. In time I am sure it'll get easier. These transitions are always a challenge for me.

Yeah, the GSE United Discord is definitely different. As far as the new GSE, you can do just about everything you could in GSE 3.1, you just have to look at your sequences differently.

I helped a person below and thought I would add it here, also. If you are used to the old way. Say, like putting GSE on button 1 on your taskbar. I would recommend? Try key binding the button next to your 1 button. I use that. Then, I move all my other spells to my taskbar. (Procs, CDs, etc.) I've been doing it that way. And it works for me. LOL

A good series of videos and worth linking, on wowlazymacros. It's quite the system, this new version of GSE, but it might be better. I took apart one of the first "11.0" sequences I found, for the BM hunter, It looked quite similar to what I remember. It was all just laid out a bit strangely. Blocks were physically repeated, instead of using a loop command. A seperate macro was used as an opener, despite that I could integrate all of it into the base GSE setup. I do think that taking apart a sequence would help a lot of people and your videos are the first steps towards that or anything like it. I always import a sequence, open it and then save it as something else, so that I maintain the clean original to refer back to. That seems to work (for me). Thanks for the introduction to the new version of GSE. 😎

Yeah when I was first learning to write sequences I would open up some of the ones that were posted online to see how they worked and that did help quite a bit.

New subscriber and I have a question as I do use your GSE macros with the new way of doing things do we just hit the bind key one time and it runs the whole macro or do we have to hit that key multiple times to complete running the macro so if there were five sequences in your macro do we hit the key bind five times or do we just hit it once and it runs its entire course ?

Thank you so much for doing these videos :-) I have been using GSE since I found out it existed, and it really helps me playing the game and not only by looking at my actionbars. But Im used to use G-HUB to make the macro's running, what do you do after you have bound your macros to the brackets ?....do you manually click the bracket keys or...? Sorry for not being an expert in this either 🙂

It's the key above the enter key and to the right of the letter "P" on your keyboard. I don't actually reach all the way over there to hit that key, I rebind my G Keys to the brackets on my Corsair Keyboard.

Yes, you can put the icon scroll macro in your actionbar, however, it will NOT work for clicking your sequence. It will ONLY be a visual display to show where the sequence is at.

Thanks so much. My wife loves wow but has eyesight issues and i am hoping to use these to make her characters playable again. I do have one question. With gse and the keybinds... we dont need to use a traditional macro icon and place it on the hotkey bar anymore...just setup a keybind and use that instead....is that right? I almost had to walk away from the game a few times because it wasn't accessible. Oak's macros gave me a way to play with my friends again, I can't recommend trying them enough.

I got one problem left i can't find an answer to... When i keybind my Tank Macro in Prot Spec, the Keybind is still used in Fury, is there a way to make keybinds spec dependent? NVM when you are in the spec you dont overwrite the other spec binds, but you can use them if you didnt bind another in the spec, which was kinda weird to me

Didn't Blizzard break some of GSE stuff? I am just coming back to play pre-patch and my macros don't seem to work at all, also missing my talents as well. Should I wipe all of my previous macros and start over? I am trying to find more in-depth info on the new GSE for 11.0

Yes, word of glory and intercession are still baked in by holding CTRL while mousing over a player.

You can only bind 1 thing in WoW so you can either bind the actionbar button or the GSE button but not both. :(

Hello. My native language is not English, so I am not fluent in English. Is there no way to use it by putting it in the skill window like before? In the case of Druids, Guardian Druids use GSE with mouse heel, but in the case of Healers, they do not use GSE, so they cannot use mouse heel. Is there no way to create a macro button and do it like before without setting it as a keybinding?

Mod keys do still work, yes. You have to make sure you have cleared any potential keybinding conflicts though.

Thank you for you're answering, but still doest help at all, nothing works, delete the Lua, wiped old storage, nothing worked, can't create anything, and even then I have no clue where the macro etc even is or how it work, even the saving function doesn't work, "save pending for..." that's it can't even save the macro or delete it nor it's running anything... 😩

Hmm... if there are issues keybinding you can try clearing your keybinds using the /run GSE_C.KeyBindings = {} command. I know others have had success by doing this.

Hey in the Last Version the addon created a Button that i could place in my Action bar. This was usefull for me cause i use my spekks with my mouthe and Not by pressing the Keyboard. Ist there a was to implement this Feature Back? I would Like to move the macro into my Action bar and click IT with my Mouse. Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, blizzard's changes to addons makes this no longer work and to use macrotext in a sequence you are now required to keybind. I'm sorry. It is possible to make very basic sequences that you can click, but those sequences are pretty limited and most creators are going to use macrotext and therefor you cannot click. :(

GSE no longer makes icons as you can no longer click if there are any macrotext blocks in your sequence. Check out the wiki github.com/TimothyLuke/GSE-Advanced-Macro-Compiler/wiki/GSE-3.2-and-The-War-Within-%E2%80%90-Catchup

I think there are limitations with the controller mod addon that make it so it doesnt work with GSE. Unless that addon developer changes how it works, the two will likely not get along. Sorry. :(

This is TWW beta, right? GSE doesn't seem to work in live prepatch environment at the moment. Then again, many things are broken right now. Maybe I just can't get it to work due to the changes. A little guide on how to actually write a simple sequence and put it on the action bars would be awesome. I've been tinkering for 30 mins already, all in vain.

I believe the GSE developer has limited this to his Patreons. And even then, many older sequences WILL NOT WORK in the new GSE 3.2 due to Blizzard changes.

Definitely! However, you may need to adjust the spells based on what's available at different levels. Such as Consecration, it's not in my sequence as Blade of Justice drops it, however it wont do that until you've leveled enough to get that talent.

It's done with keybinding now. There is nothing to pop up on your screen anymore. Wow removed the ability to /click a macro with a macro, so the developer had to find another way, and that way is keybinding.

Talent strings change with every WoW patch. I use the recommended wowhead builds, so you can grab the preferred builds from wowhead or icyveins and they will work.

You may need to delete the GSE.lua file outside the game (c:\path\to\wow\_retail_\WTF\Account\YourAccountName\SavedVariables\GSE.lua) Also, you may need to wipe your old GSE storage via /run GSESequences = nil /run GSE3Storage = nil

After deleting GSE and its Settings via curseforge and then reinstalling GSE, I was finally able to start importing. Was very frustrating till then, lol.

Yeah, it def sucked not getting it... Hate to salt the wound, but I got it on the 2nd or 3rd week on my pally, and on like my 1st run on my DK. ;)

Doesn't work i have spent over 5 day i reloaded wow 3 time i removed all macos. i posted here begging for help went to live chat in gse, and i get talked down on , I'm disabled the old way was easier this way isn't the same Gěs you're on I'm 3.2.05 everything you show isn't not what my Gse is and i have the up to date, i cant even kb to 1 key nothing

Not cheats... A lot of people do not have the ability to play the game the way you do. This helps. It's an accessibility issue. This addon in no way guarantees a perfect rotation, it essentially just hits buttons and hopes to hit the right thing at the right time.
