How do you delete a photo from a collection? There's a small X at the bottom left of an image but it just says reject and does nothing?

To copy full path from Finder: Locate and highlight folder in Finder, then hit Option+Command+C to copy the full folder path. Command+V in DarkTable textbox to paste.

This video is useless because I just downloaded Darktable v4.4.2, and none of what you are showing is the same as my screen. It is _remotely_ different! Please assist. I did figure out that darktable is looking for folders and not files. This scares me; as I do not want to mess up my Wedding Photos from the originals!! If Darktable changes this radically, then you should definitely state the version you are using!

The version of darktable is 3.4. A lot has changed since then. Seems odd that this video was posted 6 months ago. The import dialog box looks different in my 4.0 version. I do not see tethering on mine. Boris Hajdukovic has excellent tutorials. Boris is a master of his craft and he uses the more modern approach. Episode 61 How to work effective in darktable might be a beneficial start. Bruce Williams noobies guide to darktable episode 124 might be another one to watch. Both use scene referred workflows. I have no affiliation to either of these Darktable users. Through my experience they are good. There is a lot of information on RU-vid. Whatever you do if your seriously interested in becoming good at Darktable don't give up. Theres lots of information out there. . In the long run sticking to a more recent approach is probably the best way to go. Just my opinion. Good luck!

Why does it take 12 minutes to explain a simple concept like importing photos? Darktable. By nerds, for nerds, explained by people who are strangers to the concept of "brevity".

Completely agree. A lot of open source devs need to swallow their pride and accept that there are some things that proprietary software devs get right when it comes to usability. Perfect example is Linux in the form of Mac OS versus Linux in the form of all kinds of garbage distros. I also can't stand how Darktable pollutes folders with xmp files by default. Just plain stupid design.
