While true, imagine how much space everything would take if it was assembled, and how many rental trucks people would need to move them from store to home. Especially if someone had a door that's too small (I've seen that and it was hilarious)

We had a cooking contest in school, and my group decided to make a cheesecake. After it completely flopped we called it an artistic choice, and won the contest with what I now know as a deconstructed cheescake
You're wrong: it does need to taste amazing, no matter how it looks in pictures. And if it's deconstructed, it really has to taste good. If you're too lazy to put all the pieces together, you damn well ought to have pieces that taste amazing.
Put the bread, meat, and cheese spread on a fancy platter decorated with whatever condiments like mayo, mustard, or chipotle if you're extra fancy 👍 Veggies like tomatoes, onions, lettuce optional. Avocado if you're feeling fancy 😂

I've eaten in a restaurant a deconstructed greek salad and each ingredient was separate and made in a different form than it's meant to be in the salad. Cucumber granita for the cucumber for example. So no, it's not always simpler and just the ingredients taken apart. There can be a creative way of doing it.

I would honestly hate it. “Deconstructred” doesn’t mean throwing some crackers powder, berries and ice cream into a plate. I would love to see all the different components if it’s a truly “deconstructed” dessert. All you are doing is “simplifying” a dessert, not deconstructing it Edit: instead of blending crackers and spreading the cream onto a plate actually spend time to make the ingredients from scratch Not judging as I can’t do it but this isn’t a truly deconstructed recipe
Once in a restaurant we had to serve few pavlova desserts. But they broke so my colleage came up with this idea, from 4 broken pavlova cakes he made 5 servings and it was saved. 😅 customers were happy because it looked amazing.
Funny story, I was once gonna make millionaire shortbread and the caramel I made was too runny, so they wouldn’t set. I literally put chocolate chunks, short bread, caramel melted chocolate, ice cream and sprinkles on a table and then said it was a build ur own millionaire shortbread sundaes and they got so excited. 😆 😅humans are fooled so easily 😂😂
