Honestly the game has issues with its penalty system. Too often trying to race respectfully leads to being cut off, caused to spin and end up getting the penalty with countless numbers of players which leads to a terrible experience unless you play a crap load of races and come across the few good ones.
the amount of times someone has spun off and then rejoins a fast straight in first gear at a 90 degree angle to the track and hits me for me to recieve a 6 second penalty is ridiculous
If you want to get fast many things can help but the most common issue is people racing with automatic. Manual trans not only helps with speed but helps you control the car, this goes with controller or sim setup. You can downshift before a sharp turn etc. You do need manual
Not neccessrily do you need Manual altho it does help exiting corners as you can shift upto reduce wheelspin but i think same applys for automatic as each bumper is gear shift in auto too 👍
@@janseendiguiseppiThomasMC sorry you cannot make that statement do you want to get sum1 who uses auto to embarress you? Driving relys on many factors you have the braking line on each course for a kick off way more grip than offline then you have set ups n last but not f least driver f ability dont assume were all the same we f aint
@@Standgedicht bro idc tbh of course i know manual is overall faster as changing gear takes time so the more you change gear theoretically the more time is lost and as this Forza does not allow manual shifting in auto(old FM let you) then well done you are correct if i had a wheel id use manual and take lumps off my laptimes but i can guarantee you there is someone out there who is as fast either way and auto gears is NOT an assist u doughnut😂😂 people with a wheel have automatic gears(no clutch)
Si when you get to the rear wheel drive cars in the GT series with longer races and powerful cars that require making pit stops half way through race , I’d recommend using sport traction control. Will help a tonne but not hinder you as you’ll find youll still be able to spin out even with tcs
If you ask me driving games and especially sim games i think it is way better to grind with the assists off it will only make you better in the long run
I think we were in a race together somewhere (SLR Kaylos). The SLR doesn't mean much, old Project Cars 3 group. They have moved onto ACC. Edit: oh crap, I responded before watching the whole video. I have this video saved from my perspective and planned on uploading it, such a close finish. I do use manual with clutch, but you can use Manual with clutch without the clutch on race cars or cars with racing transmissions. Only use the clutch to start (i map it to my wheel). I was also running very low aero, which made the bus stop a bit of a risk to push too hard. I'll link for you when I do.
Kudos to you for having good sportsmanship and a great driver. I'm watching this video after losing race after race wondering why and I don't really know the tracks too well. Insane how you guys fly around that track and know every apex, turn, and time to break. Good battle, boys👌
I came from acc competizone using wheel but requires to many hours creating set ups for races. Decided to try forza with wheel and manual gears but it felt awful to many settings i was super slow moved to a controller and automatic only assist is abs and i find it much better to play . Not worlds best but do have s saftey rating and about 4700 Currently. Set up of cars make big difference on forza but you can definitely be quick in auto l. The worst part is the penalty system even if your on front row of grid probably be p16 by turn 1. People go for any gap possible even if there isn't one
Hey Si….:been a sub for a long time now…….downloaded this yesterday and after a few races saw this vid.,…didn’t know about the advance controller thing involving dead zones so definitely going to set that up like yours here….sounds like a simple but really great tip…..cheers good man.
@@Simonb1471 was a good performance if your new, wouldn't say I'm new but still interested in any info I can get,and definitely interested in more Forza content,I'm quite enjoying it at the moment,I usually play ACC which is a proper SIM,but I'm trying to play Forza as more of an arcade game as can be infuriating when you get rammed on purpose by ten year olds😔
@@kevjames21yes I agree, it seems the safety rating makes little difference to the lobbies I get as if I qualify from 3-6 I can’t go round the first corner
Heeeeeey! thats me on your Rivals - ive been getting a lot of Top 90+ % lately - on controller - i just bought a G923 logitec Wheel but not sure if im keeping it - my skill points have gone from 4457 to low 3k since using it lol
I will say playing manual with a steering wheel is way easier than manual with a controller lol. I always used automatic when I use a controller. Tbh play the game however you want. It’s all in good fun.
any advice for someone trying to shift over to manual? feel alright with everything else but getting the nack for not blowing the engine up is difficult for some reason lol
The MC is a game exploit. I have NOT played much rivals at all so I don’t remember damage ever being on but could be wrong. That being said if you use paddle shifting just don’t use the clutch in multiplayer… 🤷🏼♀️ throw it in and don’t use clutch
for me the biggest issue as a begginer is controlling the cars,i playing o a wheel and pedals ,and its so fucking hard,i watched tons of videos of others driving ,they seem to drive even harsher than i am ,but whenever i touch gas a milimeter to much and/or a little bit too early back end always wants to spin the fk out , i never can drive fully confidently because every corner feels almost like a coinflip,it would be WAAAAY more helpful to find a video that gives exact examples of mistakes and how to fix them, maybe i do sound like a scrub but im am really frustrated of that ,things im aware of: 1. if you brake hard and turn, your back will most likely spin out - i try to lower the pressure before turning but back end still want to leave the server 2. dont go full throttle out of corners because your back end will most likely go lose - sometimes i use only like 50-60% of throttle ,and back end still wants to go out on top of all that you gotta watch other players, watch your brake points, watch your lines,on top of all that cars is almost like butter on hot oven, maybe i choose wrong cars idk,awd cars feels better, maybe im only full arcade racing games player
That's just crazy you're able to even stay near the lead cars running 0 tune stuff. I just watch the fastest cars absolutely pull away from me in spec races. No turning or braking having come into the equation yet. I often start 8th to 12th and can't maintain even that due to getting rammed off track on the first 1-5 corners. I have finished dead last 75%+ of the races. I have had multiple DNF's due to being lapped by cars that are running as much as 15% faster than i can achieve on the straights. This is my first Forza Motorsport game so I don't really understand the tuning at all.
Think forza should ghost all cars for the first couple of bends after a race starts , sick of the arses who come steaming down the straight and take most the front runners out , or ghost all the time like qualifying, then the fastest man wins not the arses , cheers shane uk 🇬🇧
Well, definitely do more videos on how to get faster for people like me who have only just got into driving games, there isn't much out there on getting faster laps how to improve corners etc
Just a bit of banter. Made me think of the call of duty shills with “my favourite class setup” etc. Seeing as you’re enjoying this game will you be giving ea wrc a go?
You have the full Suggested Line assist on, yet you say if you have both the Throttle and Steering assists on, you might as well not play the game at all lol. Suggested Line assist is pretty much autopilot.
Id say the best tip for being better is STOP CRASHING INTO OTHERS PEEPS you will get higher finishes and also a steering wheel will make you better than controller its waay easier to ne smooth controller players lose time as constant adjustments thru corners costs laptime 100% fact you dont need a rig just get a wheel if affordable
Bro i gotta say what you say when your in your race car are mot good advice at all for a start your judging everybody as if you have exactly same set ups then assuming we all have the same standard ability n MC with a steering wheel is f easy id suggest thhorough research before although not bad advice its certainly not good advice trust someone who has 20 000 hrs at least playing Forza since 2002 and gaming since 1980
