Hi RBR....This is very interesting. I was thinking yesterday that i would love to have a better explanation of how you do your compost bin and tumbler. WOW now I have the answers I needed. We have 30 raised beds. Spent a small fortune on bagged soil and boy did we get ripped off big time! The garden was a flop and all the hard work was almost for naught!! :( I began realizing the soil was a complete waste of time and money pretty early on. But, not much could be done then. . SO! Now we get to work on building some great chunky compost and try again next year. Vine borers destroyed all the squash, cantaloupes, and cucumbers. I guess bad soil was not enough, so, double whammy here. We're in N. Alabama and the heat, rain and humidity has been almost unbearable. Add 6 weeks of of triple hatching of cicadas, and that all makes for a miserable summer!! LOL But, it is what it is, so we move on and learn from it all. And. like there's not enough going on, I watched your videos in the wrong order LOL!! Next year will bring us a bumper crop, so, I'm looking forward to maybe a few winter plants, then on to 2025!! I know, I wrote a book. Thank you again for your wonderful videos and your love of gardening. ♥
Thank you for the wonderful comment. Building soil health is the key for me and something I work on year-round. Now that you have the soil, it's time to improve on it. There are no real shortcuts, rather a patient, persistent approach. Look around my channel and you'll find some ideas that will work for you. Keep checking back as I will share more tips I've used for decades. In the meantime, save all your kitchen scraps and clean yard debris. Fall leaf season is not that far away too! Cicadas make great compost!
