@@ShieldX_Snowy seriously? i did. My handwriting sucked but it was okay enough so you could read it without any problems. A classmate once got an "ungenügend" (F in America) on a test in German lesson because of the teacher denying to try to read that incredibly bad handwriting (which could have been read if you just try hard but sure it was not good). She 100% has chosen the wrong job. She was the kind of teacher always being nice to girls and pissing on boys for no reason and probably giving grades based on how she feels or how she likes/dislikes the students. She disliked me and my mother because they were disagreeing on almost everything. I pretty much always got an "befriedigend(-) or ausreichend" which is C- to D in America while she was teaching and just when she left because she was pregnant and another teacher was stepping over to take her place i kept getting "gut+ to gut-" (B+ to B-)... if a teacher is grading you based on something like your handwriting you can be sure she/he got tons of other problems.

One tip I can give to all beginners, and those of you who have difficulty writing, is to write (not to write nicely, but for the sake of convenience) wider letters, i.e. broad style, instead of compact letters. Wide style makes it more free space, and easier to write the characters. In addition, the ironing will be longer, which means that it goes faster as well. Had difficulty writing myself, but when I started to write broad style, it became easier! And by the way, great video!

For the most part I agree, but in many cases a teacher will have to grade hundreds of essays, and messy handwriting can slow this down significantly. I’ve heard this is the same in the case of AP test graders, they just don’t have enough time. However if the handwriting isn’t too bad and a teacher drops a grade because of it, that’s just stupid.
@Matthew Gross it's their job to read and mark what happens if someone struggles to write because they have poor motor function but they don't get someone to help them write it
I got shaky hands so I have trouble writing 😅 It would be messed up for a teacher to lower someone’s grade just because they have bad handwriting especially if they have a problem writing or if they put a lot of effort into the paper
Here is what I did; I practiced writing and occasionally spotted errors in my handwriting. So I practiced writing slowly, prioritizing the quality over the speed. I kept keeping that handwriting until I could write quickly without the writing being ugly as hell. Another little extra thing I did was carry over specific letters from cursive and other fonts and incorporate them into my writing style. This helped a lot with the writing.
I'll admit I don't have the best handwriting, but even when comparing my handwriting to the most unreadable abomination on God's green earth, my mom still says that mine's worse (I'm not Indian, but Sri Lankan, so close enough lol)
My mother couldn’t even read the words of some other person’s handwriting yet said mine is worse, I started cursive and she hasn’t talked about my handwriting ever again.

The fact that essays don't get grade on handwriting but organization, neatness, explanation, ect. Also in my school, we type the essay up and then print it out
And add: Ææ(Ash)=ah sound, and used to replace “ae” Œœ(Ethel)=oi/oy sound, and used to replace “oe” Þþ(thorn)= used to replace “th” And finally: Ää,Üü and Öö(Umlaut)= used for long vowels With þese you can save space when writing
Yeah but sometimes it's understandable because some kids handwriting are unreadable, there was this 8th grader who's handwriting was literally unreadable and I had to peer edit her paper, I didn't understand anything but like one "the" but that was it, I just told her it looked good and there was any errors, for context, my own teacher couldn't even read it.
If you spend weeks working on the paper but the teacher gives you an F because they dont like your handwriting they deserve to get fired and cheated on by their spouse
My handwriting while rushed is literally unreadable. My handwriting is already basically cursive so when i start writing too fast it turns into literal scribbles

@@dxrkerrxses nah that was so common back then. At that time the teachers even slapped or hit the students. Now it is not allowed here for like 7-8 years. I am in grade 10 now and I don't see those teachers in the primary wing anymore. There are a bunch of new teachers now.
I can’t even read cursive. Only one of- actually none of my teachers could write cursive yet THEY DO. I CANT READ THEIR CURSIVE BC IT’S SO BAD. If your cursive is as neat as a computer cursive font then I’ll probably be able to read it 😅
@@sheeftala cursive is legible except when you make the 'ɑ's and 'o's and 'u's all look very similar so you write "corn" and people mistake it as "cum"

If my teacher shaped my pencil in half and td me I would fail because I had "inconsistent hand writing", I would pick up the other half, grave a piece of paper and write this, " F.... U... B" cuz there NO damn why they failing me over some hand writing. That is some Kindergarten shit.
Fun little story: When my history teacher was in school, his handwriting was so bad that his teachers would often call his family's house phone just to ask him what he was talking about in his essays.
My spouse’s handwriting is so bad that I have to fill out all forms for them. Surging that needs to be read by another person is my responsibility to write. Beyond this, I’ve known a number of slots who have trouble reading their handwriting.
If my teacher grades me on her ability to read messy handwriting and not on MY ability to perform at the highest level possible, I'll go and find another teacher.
To everyone in this comment section 1. If you have a medical reason for your bad handwriting, then the teacher should not threaten your grade. Get an IEP or 504 from your school, get accommodations. My friend with dysgraphia has a 504 that requires teachers to give electronic copies of worksheets when possible, and they cannot dock his grade because he couldn’t write 2. If you do not have a medical excuse, and your writing is unintelligible, the teacher can certainly doc your grade. If you provide an incompressible answer then you are not demonstrating your knowledge of the subject, and may as well leave the answer blank. 3. If you do not have a medical excuse, don’t act as if you cannot improve your writing. My handwriting was shit and barely legible at best. Then there was a program that I was desperate to get into, that required hand writing essays, so I practiced for an hour every day for a week and now my handwriting is legible, if not pretty.
@@jadedesigns6171 Mine is readable to doctors but just like theirs, it's rushed because I refuse to waste time making it prettier. I want my hand to follow my thinking, not slow down. I've never been graded on my readability, but if someone did it I'd just assume they're straight up r---rded.
@@karisrahl4444 If you practice writing nice at a slow pace, it gets easier to write nicely at a fast pace. It’s all about muscle memory. If your handwriting is legible it’s fine, it’s when you handwriting is unreadable that you have to fix it. If a teacher requests better handwriting, then you can physically do it
