I was grateful when a friend told me I was up talking. She gave examples of how it sounded in meetings and was direct about how it came across. It really did help my career long term.

I really need this video because I’m autistic and I could really learn how too train my voice. I never even thought about the fact that me speaking higher might make people think I’m unqualified for a job. I thought I was being friendly and out going. 😩

Too bad friendly is seen as not "taking charge" in a patriarchy. -respecting heartless control vs creative supportivness. 😢

Great short! She was a really good talker as well, which was needed for her to make that statement.

People listen when I talk .. I used to be bullied about my voice . I don’t care anymore . Yes it’s not typical, but it’s me .

Her up talking wasn’t even fully up talking - she was going down a little on the last syllable. So many people just keep going up and up with their inflection and it’s truly awful.

Funny. It always sounded like my Finish friend was ready to hang up on our phone calls; I pressed through & learned how to listen to a foreign accent.

You are amazing. I had to look up the name of course, and I was impressed b/c all of the clips are from 2015 & you just whipped out that name. Then I watched them and I REMEMBER seeing her back then! So I guess I agree that she’s memorable yet you did a much better job of remembering lol

I don’t understand this at all because I do not ever say anything with a question on the end of my statements. I am actually very pointed.

People from Florida do uptalking. They raise their voices at the end of every sentence?
