Those are some great drills! Once was a pitcher & it all came natural. It's hard to put skill into words and drills. Thank you for the breakdown! GOOD LUCK to all the young ladies!
I’m a first year pitcher I stepped up to help and be a relief pitcher. I’m 5’7 and 12 and I pitch around 43-45mph but my top is 47mph. For me it was just natural and it just flowed easily. I really enjoy pitching and I’m trying to get better.
Hi, I have a question. How can I force the K out of my pitching form and how can I swing my arms straight instead of "combing" my hair while pitching. When I pitch, my hips will turn but my upper body doesn't and it doesn't feels naturally to turn my body to the point my shoulder faces the catcher. For the swing part, I do not feel that I'm swinging behind my head and it's kind of frustrating. Thanks :))
Sorry missed this post - release is at the hip - the position of the hand is actually not a simple question- are you trying to create down (drop) spin? Side spin or back spin - you are touching on a complex question - are we working with a beginner or advanced pitcher?
Dan Meier when going all out as a pitcher sometimes you need the break down at the end that twists your hand so that it faces down. When throwing a fastball, palm goes at the catcher at the point of release. Then a breakdown that may or may not twist the hand down...(AKA deceleration will sometimes twist the pitchers hand down)
