After watching this video my club said I improved my already amazing turns in back People say my back is impeccable I also managed to knock of at least 1 second in all my back & frunt. Thanks for your help
I’m 11 and I’m gonna have a competition at June 4 and this tips are good but turns I don’t really think it will help cause it’s just one straight line…… and I don’t know how many meters I’m gonna swim xD I had to do all strokes like butterfly, freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke… I’ll edit tomorrow on how many meters is the line and If the competition comes up I’ll comment of how many minutes or seconds when I finish it.
I always turn my head during backstroke turns (Which killed my flags chance by 1 second, but I still have 8 months to catch up!), but I always do as many kicks as possible underwater, which in my opinion helps a lot. (I kick until I'm supposed to come up which is the 2nd red dot or last.) Thanks for the tips! These should help me improve and get me to flags! (My butterfly is 32 seconds for a 50, and my backstroke is 34 for a 50, and I'm 11.)
Hi, I Have been swimming for a while know I one of the major things that I struggle with are my turns so this video really gave some tips and advice which can really help myself become an even better swimmer. Thanks so much creating this video!😃
I always seem to run out of oxygen during the aftermath of the flip turn on freestyle. I get huge amounts of anxiety as I approach the wall; I can't count the number of time that water has forcefully pushed into my nostrils, and I tend to overcompensate by exhaling too forcefully on the turn. Destroys my entire lap.
I'm a swimmer too and my coach told me tw other things: after the breaststroke turn, you should go deeper under than it is shown in the video. And after a turn, you shouldn't keep your feet togheter like that. Try it yourself: stand up and jump first with your feet together. After this, try it with more distance between your feet. You'll see, with the second thechnique, you'll jump much higher.
I wish some one could explain why with breast stroke and butterfly you have to do a 2 handed touch on the wall before turning, other than 'that is the way we have always done it'. For the finish to stop the clock, a 2 handed touch makes sense since they are both short axis strokes. It would be a lot faster to do the standard flip turn. Guess you would have to allow one dolphin kick for the breast stroke flip turn.....
i think im the only one in the world who does not get water up in nose after flip turning. I dont even need do blow bubbles, water just does not go up my nose.
The young woman here is probably the only swimmer I have seen other than Phelps, who comes off the wall angling down rather than parallel to the surface of the water. A coach told me about 'getting under the backwash' and then several weeks later there was Phelps in the Olympics, going into the wall half a length behind the other guy, he goes down deeper and farther, and comes up a full body length ahead. In the interview after, he comments about how he was able to get under the backwash. Out of all the turn videos I have watched, not a single one even mentions this....
I watched a video from Chloe Sutton on how to do one, and that really helped me, but I kind of just learned how to do it by myself since my coach wouldn't teach me
Olympic please could you give tips on breaststroke technique, at my swimming club we mostly only do stamina work and I'm not sure if the way I do breaststroke is the most efficient.
If you can do a somersault underwater, it's not too much more difficult, just figuring out the correct distance and arm position. The biggest difficulty is saving enough oxygen for the turn and transition when you have been swimming for multiple laps already.
We call them crossover turns, and basically what you do is when you are swimming into the wall on backstroke to breaststroke, you count your strokes it takes until you hit the wall, but instead of finishing (my number is 5, sometimes 4) you reach your hand back behind your head (you will be on your side or on your back closest to your side) and you use your arm that is behind your head to push the wall either away or behind you, which makes you turn faster to the side and then you position your feet and push. I watched a video from Chloe Sutton telling and showing me how to do it, maybe it will help you!
By seeing this, a person can learn swimming. We think that we can learn about Swimming Chess, learn how to jump, what kind of stroke, what time to do, etc. We can learn 75% by watching the video that we want to learn. If you want to learn how to learn the cursor, you can understand when your desire power is high and you might say that when you look at limo, they think that they are going to be in some time, they know what they are, or they do it.
