I respect mentalists like Derren Brown who don't claim to not use trickery. He uses some preshow (in a better way) and using some psychology alongside some sleight of hand and gimmicks but he doesn't solely rely on the preshow.

hi ! im curios about one thing, what you think about this case ? in my country there is a professional magician and mentalist, he's won 2019 Dunninger Memorial Award and written and sold books about regonizing lying, learning to interpret others facial expressions and about memory. he has teached and lectured about memory apparently too. during corona he started doing skype kinda shows to people, so i doubt the answers is seeing the persons before the show to peek something etc, cause they are live and not phychically together. he also apparently has memorizes all digitd of π and can memorize order of a whole deck of cards. also he has tape or metal eyecoverings as a blindfoldon during a show, so it is phychically imbossible for him to peek during those on. i really suspect that amongst his normal magic trics, it really has to do something with being able to guess right, the good memory stuff etc, what do you think ? is it real talent or just simple gimmics he uses. his name is Pete Poskiparta but i dont think thats any use for you cause the language barrier. but if you want, check out some videos, there should be some on youtube. or just based on this explanation tell me what you think ? are they all just using gimmicy tools to do trics, or real rare talent ? (by talent i dont mean anything supernatural like real mind reading etc, but everyday abilities everyone has but with whom some are better than others)
