Advice from a diabetic (14 years experience) Don’t listen to that crap ! The nurse is right ! Use the needle multiple times before throwing it ! They tell us that because they want us to buy more and more and fill their greedy pockets ! Also, to save my insulin, I only take out 1 unit in the beginning! Not 2 ! The aim is to check if the pen is working properly !
How can you properly inject it to someone that won’t hurt them? My dad tells me that it hurts when i inject his insulin. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong…
So, hold the area where you’re going to inject between your fingers and pinch it a bit up so you create a hump ! Then inject slowly and steadily ! If it hurts, make sure the needle is new and sharp ! Hope this helps
