I have the 6WB installed in my car, and yeah.. not cheap.. but worth it every single day. Blows other owners away when they get in, and I love the added features and look. The 2020 M2Comp doesnt even have one of these.. (I looked). Worth it!

Thanks, I really like the instruction vid. well done. I do reconnment ppl to check if everythings works, when you plugged all the cabels in, before you put everything back together. you never know if it works or not, so you don't have to remove everything again if ur unlucky and have a broken device of you missed a plug.

Quick question, if you have already done a screen upgrade in your car, will you be able to do this upgrade as the fibre optic cable is being used by the screen as well, or is there a spare/free connection for the optic cable in the original cable harness for the additional connection of this fibre optic cable

Hello. Looks great but I have changed the stock radio to a touch screen with a back up camera in a 2011 328i. Would I still have the same unit where you plugged in the fiber optic cable into?

Assuming you mean 2011 model year (so it's from the end of the E90 generation), then this cluster isn't going to fit your vehicle. If it's produced at the end of the 2011 as the 2012 model year (so F30 generation), then as long as you've still got your head unit there should be something to connect to. But we can't guarantee anything without knowing what other cables and harnesses have been retrofit back there; we prepare kits to fit the factory setup.

I know I am years late but I have a somewhat dumb question: does the 6WB adapt to whatever car you have? say I have a 335d wagon, will the tach display the same as my analogue cluster displayed? or if I take it and put it into an m3, will it show the same as an analogue (in regards to redline RPM and such)

The 6WB cluster needs to be coded in after installation for the proper communication with the car. If you would like to install the cluster in another vehicle you will need to send it back to us to perform the chip reset, then we would send you the cluster back. Please note that it will need to be coded again.

Hi! Just ordered mines and installed it. Took about 10 minutes. Noticed that when I installed it the instrument cluster wouldn't stay lit and it would turn on/off with a bunch of errors. I drove it from my garage to the street and it wasn't on while I was driving. But it would turn on for like a 3 seconds, then turn off again. Is this happening because I don't have it coded? I have my appointment tomorrow but wondering if it's that. Any info is appreciated!

If you are absolutely sure about the connections then the next step would be the coding session. Hey Fernando! The install of new instrument cluster is fairly easy and - as shown in the video - you don't need to update any serial numbers! :) With the install, you'll menage with basic tool kit, but we recommend to order our DIY essentials - it makes the process even easier! Cheers! :D

I checked my VIN and see that it should work according to the site. The site mentions it being Lease friendly as well... Does that mean it is easy to code back when lease ends?

If you keep your existing cluster, you'll easily be able to switch them back when your lease is done, and it will be like it was never there. Everything is completely reversible.

Hi, yes we can code the new cluster for 299 USD through Team Viewer. We can also code the used one for 449 USD, but then you'll have to send this cluster to our office in Poland to modify it.

The compatibility depends on many specs, not just the model. These are fiber optic cables of the MOST network. It depends on the car’s configuration if they are present. These cables are used to relay information mainly between the head unit and the Instrument cluster.

Yes it does, although in vehicles with Head-Up Display (HUD), after installation, navigation directions will be shown on the BMW speedometer, not on the HUD.

I have jack in CIC module that accepts fiber optic cable, and it emmits red light. 6wb is connected but it only emmits red light once car is started and then stops. Due to this I do not have communication between CIC and Cluster(cannot set date, see contacts or radio). Any suggestion how to solve this?

BMW's 6WD option is the following: WLAN Hotspot - nothing to do with the instrument cluster.

Hi! 6WB is a fully digital instrument cluster. 6WD is the wireless hotspot available in some vehicles, so completely unrelated. Perhaps you're thinking of 6WA, BMW's 'hybrid' instrument cluster? Unlike 6WB, which is fully digital, 6WA still uses traditional analog gauges but adds some digital elements. As a fully digital cluster, 6WB offers more flexibility.
