I just don't understand the thumbs down on this video, this guy undo his work just to show us the great job he did and some inconsiderate leave a thumbs down. That sucks. Great video and thanks for sharing. Thumbs up....!
Thanks SO much for this. It never occurred to me to cross under the seat and through the console. I have not installed yet, but now It looks a heck of a lot easier to thread that wire. Great job!
Successfully completed this install thanks to your video! I had a minor adjustment since I had to accommodate the XLE adapters; the power cable still connected with the brown on the back of the unit. I also was able to complete this install without any drilling. I was able to slip in the rear camera's cables under the toyota logo and into the truck via license plate light fixtures. Overall it took a few hours but now it works as good as OEM. Cheers
Oh thanks a lot. I don't know how to connect rear camera line inside rear pannel. Finally i understand it well. I will try. 2010 camry look forward to seeing safe rear view.
Thanks for the great video. I was able to install a similar camera as yours on my 2009 Camry SE. Hookup to head unit went well as dId the wire passage to the trunk. My only issue is the alignment of the camera. It seems not perfectly horizontal and points to the ground too much. I will figure out a way to set up a shim to adjust the mounting angle. Cheers !
Thank you for the video! At 5:14 , you mention pushing something out, but I'm not able to see it in the video and it's the one step I'm stuck on. I found a white pin directly underneath the Toyota logo, but I'm not sure what to do with it.
Thanks for the great video, good idea on how to run the cable, the only thing I didn’t notice was you hooking up the red cable that’s with the camera cable in the trunk area I know I saw you do it up by the head unit, so I assume I just Connect the red where that’s with the yellow video cable to that other red wire for power in the trunk area also?
I have a question. I have the auto shop installed an aftermarket back up camera on my 2013 Camry SE. But the quality has gotten really bad. I want to ask if I can use the OEM camera head on the aftermarket camera wires? No need to rewire? just replace the camera head? I can't even find any new oem camera head, maybe I will buy a used one from ebay. Thanks!
Hi, many thanks for the video. I did the same but I have an issue that some times the picture freeze when in reverse. I have to shutoff the car and wait for a minute to restart the system. I tried replacing the camera but no luck same issue happened again randomly. I re did the wiring that gives power from the reverse but still have the problem. Any help is appreciated 🙏
I installed a forward & rear back up camera into my 2010 corolla exactly the way you did. Every thing works but the vertical angle is aimed straight down to ground (can actually see my own plate) and there is no way to adjust the vertical angle either. Please advise. Your response is greatly appreciate.
Fucanchu Blue have you considered installing a small mirror directly beneath the camera that you can angle to get the desired effect? Otherwise perhaps you need a different shaped camera housing?
no need to put the key in the ignition. There is a shiftlock override button right next to the shifter. Lift up the plastic cover and depress the button with a screwdriver.
Nice work, thanks, but where the little red cable stick with the other end of yellow plug, where did you connect it at the end of the camera ? I got stuck
I got the same Camry, mine is an 07 with a 5 Speed Manual Transmission. This probably wouldn't work for my car. Unless the wire was connected to my reverse lights harness.
Nice job. Can you install one on a Toyota RAV4 Limited 2008 with JBL system. I have one but can't figured out the wiring. I got the the wireless camera think you it would be easy.
Does this only work with an aftermarket stereo? I have the elx model which already has a screen and navigation but no camera. Is it still possible to use this method? Would it be harder?
The camera I got it gave me inverted images ( a mirror ), any idea how to reverse it? I noticed 2 tiny wires, green and white, and i remember it talked about cutting them or something, but I lost the instructions, and I can not find any instruction for this. any idea how to fix it? Thx
Will this work with a 2011 camry xle v6 with navi? It comes with a camera but mine doesnt work. I want to replace but dont know where to start. Somebody. Anybody. Help
Hey guy I have the same set up but I just can't get rid of the Chinese language on the navi system any ideas? An what camera u got cause it's crystal clear
I hooked mine up the same way but the head unit I got from eBay didn’t come with av cables instead they are in the back of the radio and one is labeled camera but when I put it in reverse it says no signal. Any ideas? Help?
I'm wondering whether anyone has considered doing cosmetic upgrades to the Toyota Camry Atara R or RZ ASV50R to make it look more upmarket? Given that they built on the Toyota K Platform, I'm wondering whether it would make sense to use Lexus ES 300h XV60 or Lexus ES350 XV60 as a basis for cosmetic upgrades? Upgrades potentially include the following (depending on what can be obtained aftermarket, by the way, does anyone know of any quality aftermarket products that hopefully incorporate multiple functions into one device, hence reducing dashboard clutter): • Alert - Rear Cross Traffic (when reversing) • Alert/Warning - Collision Forward -- Potential Aftermarket solution is the Navman MIVUE860DC TYRE Dash Cam • Blind Spot Sensor - Parkmate PTS-440BSD Sensor Front & Rear Blind Spot Detection System, Mongoose MBSW4 SURFACE MOUNT MODEL, • Brake Emergency Display - Hazard/Stoplights • Control - Crash Avoidance with Braking (Low spd) • Control - Pedestrian Avoidance with Braking • Lane Departure Warning - Potential Aftermarket solution is the Navman MIVUE860DC TYRE Dash Cam or Parkmate PTS-440BSD Sensor Front & Rear Blind Spot Detection System • Parking Assistance - Graphical Display • Park Distance - Front & Rear - Steelmate PTSV810 Front & Rear PARKING SENSOR KIT 8-SENSOR KIT, Pioneer Reverse Sensor Kit for Smartphone Multimedia Tuner - ND-PS1, Kemax Reversing Camera & Parking Assist Sensor Kit, Powertrain 4.3in. Reversing Camera With Sensors, PARKMATE REAR PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM WITH AUDIBLE ALERT • LED Headlights • Daytime Running Lamps - LED • High Beam Auto Dipping • Rain Sensor (Auto wipers) • Power - Tailgate/Boot • Digital Radio Receiver (DAB+) • Colour Display Screen - Front • Digital Instrument Display - Partial • Tyre Pressure Sensor -- Potential Aftermarket solution is the Navman MIVUE860DC TYRE Dash Cam
how difficult is that? i am a little scared to drill a hole into my car... Do you think this camera is similar to the one you installed? www.ebay.com/itm/HD-Rear-View-Backup-Camera-Reversing-For-Car-Monitor-Glass-Lens-/232448740709?fits=Year%3A2011%7CModel%3ACamry&epid=2131263257&hash=item361f064d65:g:H4cAAOSwLGpZkmL2&vxp=mtr Thanks!
