How to install a Bomex Repla Lip on your MKIII (A70) Supra. The Lip we are installing is a replica from E-Bay of the Bomex 3-Hole lip that is no longer produced. We will show you whats involved in the installation and review the overall quality of the lip as well as fitment and finish. Yeah, not too bad. I actually just had someone who has a real Bomex tell me that the top was wider and not an issue but the shape was off and pulled the bumper out of shape. Sounds like the real thing is not any better, just different issues.

They are a set of VisionX offroad lights that have been retrofitted. They definitely bright! They are very amber and actually so bright that I don't run them except when I am out away from other cars like high beams or doing a shoot.

You can find the Lip on Ebay. The fog lights are VisionX offroad lights that have been retrofitted.

I got one of these from shine auto and it does bow at the extreme ends. I figure once it's screwed in, it should fit. the issue I've ran into is that I don't exactly see good screw points under the bumper and I've been stuck on that part.

Even the original Bomex lip fitment left a lot to be desired. The lip on this one really needs to extend back further but I was able to keep it in place with the washers. My car had the OE lip still so I fortunately have the factory reinforcement in the bumper and the steel strips that support the lip.

@@BoostRodeo Ahh, I never considered that. I guess all of them probably didn't come with that lip from stock, mine didn't have it. Sounds like this might be a pro-job then.

Shine makes nice stuff, if they offered this style I would have 100% paid the difference to go with them!

@@transformer889 Nothing, Ken's quality is better than this lip. I just wanted the bomex 3 hole and shine doesn't offer it in 89+ so I had no choice

@@BoostRodeo It is hard to make a decision on shine auto front lips because they don't have a decent picture of how they look like, I guess most pictures were taken at night or from the sides, really strange I think these are customers pictures lifted from the web, what kind of company is that?. @@transformer889 As far as pre-89 lips shine only has two choices. The bomex 3 hole (what I have but for pre-89) and I believe the ab-flug (spec-G) style. Both look good and they have decent pictures. All the rest they show will not fit your car.

Is yours off ebay? The pre and post 89 bumpers are shaped quite a bit different so lips wont interchange.

Same front lip on my 90 mkiii.....and our side holes basically being indentions are IDENTICAL

Have you had any issues with the sides popping out? Happened to me on my last road trip and once or twice since.

@@BoostRodeo so far no, it has stayed. But I got it painted all nice and gloss black and have hit it in a few spots 😡😡 so I'm gonna just flat black it soon.

@@Adrian_Supra I cant blame it there might have been a few 150mph pulls that trip....😂 I need to pull it off and do a follow up video on how to fix the mounting lip issue along with blocking out and painting to get it really looking good. The other projects have just been keeping me busy!

@@BoostRodeo yea it was such a rough finish when I got it that I mocked it up, drilled the holes and sent it off to a professional painter to get a better finish on it and paint it. It looked amazing when I got it back. But it's so agressive even with my 1.5 inch drop in the front

Tell me about it and the a70 has so much car over out over the front wheels that it multiplies the issue when there is a driveway incline or coming down an decline. Really short nose cars like bmw's can get away with a lot more. I decided to just slap mine on as is to make a few shows but need to go back and make it pretty before spring.

Do you think this lip is flexible enough that I can maybe heat it up and put it on a pre 89 supra?

I think it would take actual fiberglass work. I know the bumper on the pre-89 is the same width but the corners are much sharper. Being fiberglass this lip won't become more flexible with heat so you would have to make small cuts in the top and bottom edges at the corners to allow it to flex. You could then make the corners sharper and glass it back together so it stays that way. Would not be an easy thing to pull off unfortunately. Pre 89 just doesn't get much love!

Thanks a lot for the reply and I figured that would be the case.Still contemplating on if I want to get this lip or the two hole lip specified for the pre 89.

@@jasonrambaran In my opinion the 2 hole (east bear repro) is just too rounded for the pre89s more aggressive angles. Here are a couple links to some threads back when they were trying to organize a group buy for this lip in pre89 with Shine Auto. I would love to mod one and build a mold for pre89 I just don't have time.

I got in contact with shine auto previously and they said they would make it but they just need a list of at least 10 people and that it would be 300 plus shipping

@@jasonrambaran Little spendy but fair for a new mold. You could probably find 10 people between the forums and facebook groups. I think if you could get 20 Shine would cut their price to $250 or even $200
