How to install a double din radio and backup camera in 2008-2012 Chevrolet Malibu LT 

Yep one on the outside & one on the inside.

I wired this unit on the bench before installation which i didn’t record. I will make a wiring video that will explain how to do so for any install

A grommet is a rubber insert used to keep water away from the metal so it doesn’t rust or corrode. Literally a rubber circle

It may be easier for you to buy the ASWC-1 if not you should be able to tap the wires & wire it directly to the aftermarket radio

No, if you are installing a factory radio from another vehicle, you'll need the security code from the donor vehicle for it to work in the vehicle you put it in.

@dmwautoss I'm having almost the same problem. I have a 2010 Malibu with another version of the same factory unit. Am trying to I stall an aftermarket screen unit. When we get it all hooked up the antitheft system prevents the car from starting and there's no sound. Do I need a code?

Tu radio probablemente no tenga el doble din completo para usar el kit de doble din. Esta radio encaja como un doble din tradicional en la parte de atrás, así que ese puede ser tu problema.

Did you buy the wiring harness listed in the description?

You have to get the wiring harness for the car connectors & wire that together with the new radio wiring harness. Use the wiring diagram that came with the new radio & the new car wiring harness to match them together

The Metra wiring harness comes in a bag with all the colors & there assignments. Simply match the Metra harness to the wires coming out of your radio.

Hey I did that and had a problem where I turned the volume all the way up and it just cut off and also I hook it all up and only my trunk speakers work but the entire radio won’t come back on what is that issue

Double check your wiring.

No, some colors are the same & some are not. You need to match them according to the Pinouts for both harnesses.
