How to install a garbage disposal and connect the P-trap and drain.
Here I install a Moen EX75c disposal, which is more powerful and quieter than the average Insinkerator installed by most contractors on new sinks. This unit also comes with a preinstalled power cord so the only other thing needed is a 1.5" P-Trap kit found at Home Depot or Lowes.
P-Trap kits with only two washers and nuts usually only give you one slip washer. The other washer is a reducer. Normally, your sewer drain stub-out will have a washer and nut on it. Here mine didn't so I needed three nuts and two slip washers.
FYI: if installing a dishwasher drain line to the disposal you need to remove the disposal drain cap, seen here in blue. Some disposals have a black cap that you push into the disposal and then you pull it out from the top.
