How to install a curt trailer hitch receiver on a 2024 Chevy Trax. Link to roof rails www.amazon.com... Socials Facebook / thetylerlandry TikTok / saturnspeedshop Instagram / saturnspeedshop
Thanks for posting this. I am going to get roof cross bars for sure and may get the receiver. I don't plan on towing with my Trax but I might want a box or bike rack.
Have you noticed any problem towing anything around with some weight on the Trax? I have a 2020 Trax. It says not to tow anything in my owners manual. Thanks.
GM never officially released a towing guide on the Trax. From what I can figure out 1100-1500 pounds. About 180 pound tongue weight at max. I wouldn’t get crazy with putting too much behind it but if you stay under 1500 you’ll be fine. Now, I want you to know, this is just speculation because there is no official number so please don’t just take my word for it. Do some research and draw your own conclusions on what you think. There isn’t a lot of info out there so this is the best answer I can come up with.
@@xlarinI don't think it's a question of the engine. I think they make plenty of power. I think it's more just a question of putting too much strain on the bolt holes in the frame and the strain on the transmission.
Yeah they make some noise. It doesn’t bother me because I’m like half deaf so I’m not the best one to tell you. I will say every car I own that I’ve put them on make noise.
No I didn’t. I ended up trading it in because I drive wayyyy too many miles. I put 25,000 on it in 3 months. So I bought an older car so I didn’t mile it out.
Whatever works! Make it fit and get the bolt tight. It’s a single sheer so that means it only has one sheer point. Plenty strong as long as as it’s tight and doesn’t pull through.
@@saturnspeedshopthanks I just drilled out the hole abit more to get the last bolt straight. Another question for the wiring harness for the trailer did you need a special deal for that or just got your parts from menards?
@@saturnspeedshop good to know! You can also mitigate the wing noise by adding paracords on the racks it self. Search up “roof rack paracord” and you’ll see what I’m taking about.
@@saturnspeedshop I was watching videos on how to reduce the wind noise by simply adding para cords around my the rack itself and it seem to work. On RU-vid search “roof rack paracord” and you’ll see what I’m taking about
