That pipe should have been replaced. It going to fail big time. The entire tub spout moves every time the diverter is used and that is just causing more damage.
It's a tub spout with diverter. And a cheap one with plastic. It's not a kohler shower diverter. It's not a faucet either. It's a tub spout. Hate when people call this a faucet. It's a tub and shower valve. I don't care if it's called a faucet. A faucet is on your sink.
Could you tell me the name of the white plastic part you’re putting over the copper pipe? Mine didn’t come with it and I can’t use it without it. Customer service has been unhelpful.

I had to try a bunch of different ones measure the length and check the interior to see if it will fit old ones are faring lengths and I had to order one off of amazon
