Previous owner had a Sony xplod 6 disc changer and receiver installed with a huge amp in front trunk. They kinda butchered the factory harness so I'm trying to figure it out while installing a media receiver.

Hi, Thanks for the video. I'm getting ready to do this on my 986. I thought there was an alarm wire on left side that needed to be grounded out to keep the alarm from going off. Is this something you had to deal with?

Yes and no, many Boxsters came with nice factory CD holders so a replacement CD player makes perfect...regardless thanks for a nice video.

Great video. Does your Boxster have a factory amp in the front trunk? It didn’t look like that when you open the hood to disconnect the battery. On Crutchfield it is telling me that I’m going to have to bypass the factory amp and run new speaker wires from the stereo to the amp location which I assume will make my installation a little bit more complicated than what you presented in the video.
