When I screwed in the assembly, the front end was raised and not flush with the toilet bowl. It was raised. Does that mean I tightened it too much? There was also a little looseness from the riser to the toilet seat.

I purchased the Carex riser with the large bolts and they do not work with any of the toilet seats I have in my house or with any that I've found in stores. I even called Kohler and Bemis and they tell me that all their toilet seats use 1/4-inch hardware. My wife is unable to get off a seat without the riser and I am currently jury-rigging it together, but I'm sure it's not very safe. Could someone PLEASE tell me specifically the brand and model of a toilet seat I can purchase (hopefully from a Home Depot, Amazon or Lowe's) that has the larger mounting holes. As others have said, this is an excellent instructional video!

I do i have a toilet that has a long bowl,maybe because it is a accessible apartment for the disabled and the riser is a little short in the bowl will that be ok? Or do i have to go back to using the old fashioned ones that clamp on and are harder to clean and access?

Someone loaned me a toilet seat riser, along with the long bolts. I managed to take off the original toilet seat, but the bolts are too wide for the holes in the back of the toilet rim. Should I try to get bolts that are the same length but thinner to fit in the holes? Thank you.

The Carex elongated HINGED toilet seat 3.5 inch riser was ordered for Dad. I'm concerned that the hinges will wear out, or cause wiggling, and become unstable for him. He is very frail and has a medical condition that has badly affected his bone density. A fall , even from a toilet, could fracture his bones. Anyone had any experience with the hinged model's durability?

Wooden toilet seats work fine. They don't have smaller holes that I know of.

1.sadly our toilet will not work so It looks like I will need to buy a new seat and Lid. 2. there are no rubber pads on the raiser so I will have to purchase something like that as well all in all its been tedious to say the least.
