Many people have a granite counter top and if you are installing this after everything is in place, here is a tip. Cut a 2 inch by two inch by 3/4 chunk of pine and mount the top plate centred on it. Install rev a shelf base and second shelf as described. Add a glob of crazy glue (CA glue) to the top of the pine block. Make sure things rotate then lift the block up by the smaller chrome post that rides inside the bigger one. Lift it up to your granite and hold it in place for 30 seconds while the glue drys.
These are pretty good instructions. I was replacing a broken one, and the old mounts/holes didn’t work for this brand. The first shelf wasn’t too hard since I could remove the shaft, slide the shelf on, then put it in. The upper shelf is trickier. I had to take the pole out put both shelves in, remove the top post, then feed through, tilting to put the top post/shaft back in. It’s a pain, but doable. These will not hold a lot of heavy weight, so think twice about glass bottles of oils, etc., or heavy pans-that was what led to my old, much sturdier lazy susan top shelf breaking. All that said, it took me about two hours total-I’m no youngster so had to take rest breaks. Note: sort your screws carefully first: long for bottom, and two for the metal pieces the pole goes through.
I installed and the bottom of the left side of the cabinet door rubs the bottom of the cabinet opening on the right side when rotating. Any suggestions to adjust it? The door needs to be raised up about 1/8 inch.
My cabinet is already existing and i want to put a lazy Susan in. While your video is very nice, I would like to see how you installed the shelves and also what the door look like after you closed it on the cabinet.
I purchased the Rev-A-Shelf 6942-28-11-52 28-Inch and it is a nightmare to install. Returning tomorrow and looking for another product. Never again will I purchase a product from rev a shelf
@@lampsoncabinets Yes, it's important to spread the word of my experience so others can make personal decisions. I finally got it installed, and after only a few months, the top shelf is already developing cracks. I don't put heavy items on it. Spices and the like. The heaviest probably being peanut butter. This is not a good quality shelf.
