This is what i want in my sister kitchen. The other way installing is on top which I don't like they put grout after a year it will damage the grout and water leaking. This underneath is much better than on top. But I think there is disadvantages of this you cannot put large amount of plate it will damage and fall down. Unlike top installing can hold large amount of plates
My daughter, recently moved into her new mondo condo. Among the upgrades she bought, are marble countertops. She is out of town for a week- so I am here by myself. At 2 am yesterday morning, I went into the kitchen to get a glass of water. The cabinet doors- under the sink- were both open!?! On closer inspection, I saw that the double stainless steel sink, had become detached from the underside of the countertop!?! No mechanical fasteners on it. There is a scrap of wood, (about 12 inches long), on the left side- the glue on that, had failed! The flanges on the other sides., had only silicone sealant on them! I was going to repair this- myself. (I have been working as a building mechanic, for over twenty years.) But my daughter said: "Don't touch anything- this is all under warranty.. They are sending a contractor to fix this." We'll see about that. (A lot of the contractors I have worked with- are inbred halfwits.)

Not a complete video, nor does it address replacing a sink. Nor does it show correct method of centering the sink over the hole. professional malarkey.
I'm putting new cabinets, I have currently a 33" top mounted sink on a 33" base cabinet, on my new kitchen we want an under mount sink also on a 33' cabinet base, how big of sink should I buy?
Hello +gabymarki: In general, we would actually recommend a 35” cabinet if you’re installing a 33” sink. It might be best to consult your countertop/cabinet manufacturer for additional design info to help make the best decision. Hope that helps!
Not helpful at all! This video should be taken down. How do you cut the holes? How do you attach the anchors for the sink? How does the faucet get put in??? Absolutely no useful information was provided. Terrible video!!!

Something solid nobody seems to want to do for installation of the undermount is a solid wooden frame secured inside the cabinet with screws and glue and then drop the sink in that. Then glue the stone on top.
The previous owner of my house did this. They screwed and glued a frame beneath the sink that left at least a 1/4" gap between the sink and countertop. They then grouted that gap. The grout has since chipped, molded, and broken away. The adhesive failed in multiple spots as well. Now I have to remove the countertop and attempt to fix their awful mistake. Why not do it right the first time? Clips are more secure and less effort.
What is the way to drill and tap the holes for the clamping hardware? You are not installing any type of anckors Like Lead Jacketed steel tap style. I must be the only person doing this.
If you look closely, you will see metal/lead anchors in the granite. Not sure if cutting the countertop and mounting the sink is a DIY job. Most countertop installers take care of the sink mounting at the factory and deliver the assembly to your home.

wait a second!!! one moment the world is upside down (gravity) next moment the other way up!! did I miss a step??? my counter top is part of the building so I can't turn it upside down. It seems Moen doesn't know how to tackle this.
Trust me, the liquid nailing or using epoxy to "glue" the blocks from the bottom WILL eventually "let go" and your sink WILL fall; my sink was put up this way many years ago, 10-12, and wanna guess why I'm looking at this video? It did hold for a good number of years, but we all know when everything fails lol. I wedged a 2X4 up under my sink to temp hold it up in place and used the liquid nails fuze-it to put the blocks back up; I left the 2X4 in place through the weekend to allow plenty of time to set completely. I then measured and cut 2X4s and screwed them up under the sink horizontally from end to end, using "L" brackets on the ends of the boards and screwing them boards under the blocks to "secure" the blocks in place; this way, I have the best of two ideas and doubt my sink will ever fall again...when I'm "least ready for it to fall" lol. I then used 100% brown silicone to seal the gap on the topside where the sink and counter meet; my counter is a brownish stone, so it looks really good. I secured the 2x4s at angles to push up flush against the blocks to even out the pressure across the face of the blocks. Im certain i could stand in my sink and it not budge; but wont be testing that confidence. ANY honest contractor will tell you that glued blocks will NOT hold forever, because I'm certain they get many a calls to fix them when they "let go".

@@Fireflytx Sorry to read of your misfortune. This process WILL hold your sink inplace FOREVER, or maybe untill the wood rots lol; With that, do be sure to caulk around the edges of the sink up top so that water does not seep down around the edges and damage the wood bracing. You'll never have to worry about having too many dishes (weight) in the sink.
they don't show the drilling of the holes or the helicoil installation. that step is critical and the only reason i watched the video. they say you need a drill but never show drilling the holes. LAME!!
If they only used the damn clips to secure the sink in to our new home that would be great. No option to do an undermount as it was built, installed the sink where it can't be removed.
Well, well, well for a professional company with a very unprofessional video. But they are really unprofessional today sometime in 2017 and the video still in the air. Do not buy Moen .... Moen the company that skips the important steps...
Hello Raqib and thank you for your interest in Moen's stainless steel undermount sinks. The mounting hardware for this sink is not the only thing sealing/attaching the sink to the counter-top; there is also a bead of caulk or sealant used to "attach" the sink. With regard to the drilling of holes through a marble or granite slab, we suggest speaking with a counter-top professional who works with these types of surfaces.
