Nice and straightforward. For all those asking what size of rope -- my GX Honda uses #5, which is 5/32". This works out to almost exactly 4mm. You can measure your existing cord and it should be close. You can find Stens in various sizes, cheap enough to buy a hundred feet and be set for a few years.
Great video, concise and your tutorial worked perfectly! When I searched for how to make this repair there are so many videos that are 8+ minutes long which, as you have shown, is a complete waste of everyone's time. I only went to the 2:00 mark and your instructions were so clear that's all I needed! Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Friend I am an Indian from a remote village farmer. Tonight I had no option . I had to repair the machine. No mechanics will visit me at night 11 o'clock as it is village and am two miles away in the dark night. To catch fish by pumpming out 💧. The machine I opened but only your video help me to coil the pulling rope. Thanks this is the real help
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ru-vid.comUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.
Your instructions are so clear, your video is so clean. Thank you so much!! My 14-year old son helped me, and we did it. A law mower repair guy was going to charge me $59.99. I'm a HS Teacher and a single mom, we did it for $6.20.
+Tracey J. Hill 59.99 that is bad I have KB's Small engine Repair Parts & Service in Fort Scott Ks Been in business for 15 years. and I hate when another repair shop treats others like that I'm sorry. if you need anything let me know if you like. at kbssmallenginerepair44@yahoo.com God Bless
it is better to wind the spring first. you wind it up till it won't wind anymore, then Un wind 1 full turn. put a screw driver through it to lock it in place. then tie the rope. the machines at work do this process, I actually work tying these together. we make the knots in the rope one handed. we tie around 300 parts an hour.
could you make a video on how to replace the ratchet pins on a GX 390 inside the coil pull. Mine backfired so violently once on a pull that it bent the pins beyond repair. I purchased new ratchet pins but don't know how to install them.
I love how this guy makes it seem so easy.. . First you have to have Honda nylon rope of the right size and length. I had to wrap the end of rope with tape to stop fraying and get it through the hole in pulley.. Thanks for the video though save me some $
Need Help on my GX390 recoil starter---the metal piece that comes out when pulled to spin the motor keeps on rattling... tried to readjust it and removed grease but its still the same ----any help would be appreciated...
What causes my starter cord to keep snapping, it looks like something is cutting it as we have used stronger cord and after a couple of pulls it even breaks
I will be hard for me to diagnose the problem with out the part here in front of me, but I would say the pulley may be worn too much where the pawl is held. There is usually a return spring that holds this pawl in. Is this missing?
