Step 1: Dig a trench for the border. The trench should be about 4 inches deep and 8 inches wide.
Step 2: Add in the concrete and then the rebar. I suggest using Quikcrete concrete, 4000psi. Only do ten feet at a time, because you want to set the stone before the concrete dries.
Step 3: Lay the stone. Leaving a finger sized joint between the stones.
Step4: Repeat steps 1-3 until the area is complete.
Step 5: Once you have completed laying the stone throughout the whole length of your border. Use a mortar in a color that compliments the stone. Mix mortar with sand according to the instructions on the bag of you have.
Step 6: Fill the joints with mortar. Let mortar dry until it is medium firm.
Step 7: When mortar is medium firm use a square trowel and scrape the mortar smooth
Step 8: take a wire brush and brush off the excess mortar from the stone, then take a soft brush and brush the joints to make them smooth and pretty then brush the dust off the stone.
Final step once the mortar is cured usually within a day take a stiffer brush(not wire) and water to clean the excess of mortar stain off of the stone. There is also options for cleaners.
