Here it is, the next video in the series of irrigation at Clint's house. The process began back in April when Clint installed his irrigation system and rolled out a load of TifTuf.
Here we are 6 months later and he is finally installing his valve box over his solenoid valves. Pretty standard for a guy that owns and irrigation system hey!
This video will hopefully give you some tips and tricks that may come in handy when installing a valve box in your garden.

I'm having to replace the manifold as whoever installed the box had one corner sitting on the incoming pipe on the manifold and someone stepped on the box and cracked the pipe. So my box kind of sits above the level of the pipe and valve and over the years all the dirt has mixed with the rock inside the box and it is making it quite difficult to get all of the rocks out.

Noticed you have a young tree 3 feet from the box. What is your plan to manage root growth into the box and around the valves?

Honestly I haven't thought that far ahead. That bed has three different citrus trees so no doubt I'll have issues. Better start planning for that. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

@@waterproau no worries. I just spent a week digging out and rebuilding a manifold that is 5 feet from my property line, where a neighbor planted a ficus tree. What a pain it has been.

Seriously, think about those trees now! I had to dig out my valves which were several feet from a Pine tree, Juniper bushes and a couple of Sequoia trees and it was just MASSIVE roots all around the lines, valves, etc. 20+ years of growth is not an easy thing to work around.
