Wouldn't a step drill bit have worked? And why cut a hole that big? I would have just drilled a hole big enough for the threaded bottom part of the faucet.

This was very helpful. Nine years after upload! I want to install an undersink reverse osmosis filter and was thinking I'd have to buy a whole new sink to accommodate the extra faucet. This is great news!

I haven't seen a filter cartridge that doesn't require you to prime it first before drinking the water. Good video, but I wish that had been mentioned. Usually you've got to run 1 to 2 gallons of water through the filter before the water stops coming out with black residue.

The hole cutting tool is neat... I wonder if rental centers stock them as you may only need it once or twice in your life if you are not in the business...

Greenlee Tools have been used in the electrical trades for decades. They are usually used to make extra knockouts in breaker panels and the like.

Milwaukee has a ton of really cool electrical and plumbing tools. The one tool that's no that greatt is the copper tubing cutter. I have seen people like it for the most part it gets awful reviews by most others.

Or you could buy a filter jug like a Brita and keep it in the refrigerator.

I do that too. But I'm gonna switch. The choice is change filter every 40 gallons... or every1500 gallons with the installed filter. Just looked at the specs for the high end 2000 gallon filter (Aquapure) on amazon. Its 50$ for the filter. Thats .03 cents per gallon. I think you still have to change it every six months.For the Brita pitcher filter you get 400 gallons (ten pack) for 50$. For 2000 gallons that 250$; changing each every month. I suppose if its just for yourself, then shouldn't matter too much.

if you looked at the difference in water quality, like really, you would never use brita again. Also brita is less upfront cost and more long term cost...

A lot of fridges have charcoal filters for ice and water as well, if you have one of those you don’t need the pitcher.

I have a water softener in the garage that comes through the faucets in the entire house. How can I separate the the water softener from the kitchen faucet? I do not want to drink the water softener water. Thank you.

Supposed to have a separate line to the kitchen faucet. Check your local code, as your setup may in fact be non-conforming.
