Window shades are easy to install. This video shows you the tools you'll need, and the steps for how to mount shade brackets to the walls and how to rewind the shade so it retracts properly.
The window shade we bought has different brackets than the ones shown in your video. I like yours better. Mine have slots that once installed, one goes one direction, and one goes the other. Confusing bullshit, but maybe I'll figure it out today. Thanks anyhow.
I live in a apartment with vinyl windows I want shades but don’t want to mess things up because I might crack vinyl so I’m using stick on paper shades how do I install in vinyl without messing things up
And if the guy at the hardware store doesn't cut those shades at the precise length, then it's a different story. Consider short inexpensive curtains instead.
me too and I still don't get it...lol I don't have pins in my rollers, I guess they are in box but the hangers are all white plastic with metal roller wheel. Mine are way different. Seems like a big job.
I realize your original posting was a year ago. What ended up happening? Next time, here's what I'd say. If the shade is broken on the inside, it's broken. If Home Depot refused to take it back, then declare the shade a loss. Get a shade from Lowe's or Menards or somewhere, from a different manufacturer. Meantime, keep the broken one. You have a lot of useful fabric left. Make garage sale or other waterproof signs. Or open up the roll and see if you can fix the mechanism yourself.
