Your videos are amazing and you don't waste people's time you on point I always thought hp was better then acer so ausus is great too. Dell is by far the best just bitlocker

How did the laptop work with you quickly and reach the main menu? Is there a way for this access speed?

Just curious, i have a Aspire a315-23 that comes with a 1tb hdd and i'm planning to swap to a m2 ssd next year but on the acer website it says the nvme supports only 512gb and the sata only 1tb. What happens if i put a 1tb nvme ssd? Will it work or won't be recognized? Or should i go with a 1tb sata ssd instead?

Hi. I see this all the time with manufacturers. This usually means they only tested up to 512GB. A 1TB m.2 should work fine. I've done it many times in a situation like this. Dale.

Hi Dale, love your channel. I watched this video and decided it was simple enough for me to try. I installed the HDD and everything went good. The drive (500gb SATA) works well. However, since the install I get this weird text whenever I boot the laptop (Acer Aspire 5 running LINUX Mint 21.1): ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [ 11.275251] ata2: softreset failed (device not ready) [ 31.275251] ata2: softreset failed (device not ready) [ 41.275251] ata2: softreset failed (device not ready) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ But then it boots into the desktop as normal and everything works fine. Have you ever encountered this? Can you tell me what it means? Thanks.

Never mind. Turns out I didn't fully seat the SSD ribbon cable into the connector.
