I reckon that's given me incentive to fit one to my Territory. Didn't realise that they ran direct from the battery? I was told they had to be wired thru the alternator. If the keys were left in ignition and plug connected to van, motor not running wouldn't it flatten the battery?. Thanks for posting.
Hello Colin, correct it will drain the battery. you can buy a special relay that shuts off at a low battery voltage however all I used mine for was power supply to a tipper trailer and a boat winch whilst running the car or to charge the trailer battery. Ebay is cheap for Anderson plugs (don't pay retail $$$).
