Man I took everything off thinking I need to for the shifter but I managed to get the shift knob to fit on mine without removing the boot. Got it done with your help regardless thanks homie!
What are steps for 2017 Civic? Looks exactly like yours but we have tried and tried to feel for the buttons to press in on the sides to release and cannot find it. Tried using pliers too. Are the side indentions on the the buttons or below them?
Cool stuff bro. Just one question. Do I need to remove all the parts around the knob if Im only replacing the oem shift knob? Or i can just go straight removing the oem knob and replace it with aftermarket knob? Appreciate your help.
No you don’t have to remove anything else if you just want to change the shift knob just know that you’ll still have the silver/chrome piece in the boot if you don’t mind it
How easy it is to press the shifter down? With a knob that big I'm worried about accidentally hitting it and shifting from D to R or something mid-drive and ruining the transmission.
if you were to hit it, you would go from drive to neutral, the car wont allow for you to go into reverse unless you were to push down again with the shifter
It’s because the shift knob is still pressing down on the shifter a little !! I had that problem with my push start but unlike your key getting stuck, mines was making a weird beeping noise !!
