Hi to all. When I try to install Arch Linux with Plasma KDE through the Arch install script. During the installation, the error "could not find the plasma-wayland-session" package appears. Can this be resolved?
i know i'm late to the party but for new viewers out there searching for a solution, it's now called plasma-workspace so instead of typing plasma-wayland-session, type plasma-workspace
your guide is so bad you should stop giving tips, "only use an 8 GB or larger flash drive" then proceeds to flash a less than 1g image lmao go home son youre so bad at this, i used a 4gb sd card on a dongle adapter andused archinstall, theres the way to do it, any other way is wrong
At 2:50, if your device says Powered off then you will need to type 'exit'. Then you type 'rfkill', after that, type 'rfkill unblock wlan'. Next you type 'iwctl' and proceed with the video.
Thx man! I'm thinking 'bout installing Arch with Hyprland on my Laptop, ditching Linux Mint, but had way to much respect of the installation process. Your video made the whole process very easy to understand
it literally took me 4 minutes of this video to set a 3some w 2 girls...... im amazed at guys who spend time and energy doing this stuff instead of finding cute girls
i did it in vm because im new to linux everything went alright until i got into the os and typed in neofetch the terminal vomited back that im not the root XD.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I followed a few other guides and kept running into trouble in getting my gpu drivers to register correctly on KDE, but your guide worked great! :D
I already have a triple boot system for ubuntu window and ubuntu since i only use one ubuntu i want to replace my old ubuntu to arch linux by just clearing the root, home, boot partition and installing arch linux on it and the difficult part is i want my main system to be ubuntu at the end (how can i install arch linux and not make it the main system in my laptop) i mean i want the grub to open ubuntu by default at the screen where we can choose which os to boot in
Please help I have a Nvidia rtx 3060ti and when I log in arch Linux I get a black screen this only happens in kde and not the other environment managers edit i restarted my pc a few times and now it works also I use arch btw
If i am installing in, in the disk configuration, and I have an M2, and two HDD, I should check with space the three of them to be able to use them once I finish the installation, or what do I need to do there? Also wondering what to do with the partitioning here to take advantage using the script. Idk if I have to use one partition to boot with fat32, another for the root with ext4, and put the rest for home, and then putting the HDD there on the home... And also I read somewhere that the swap option wasn't recommended in SSD and M2 since swap option keep writing and reading, shortening the usable life of the device, if I am installing it into an M2, or SSD should I disable the swap option? Also, this configuration applies to UEFI/NTFS devices? or it is different from those? Sorry if I'm bothering... Im just new to linux and wanted to get into it with arch, even if its a little advanced distro.
Dont worry. the installer script will see all the drives such as M2, HDD .. You can choose Your M2 SSD to install Arch Linux and the installer will not going to touch another drives other than the selected one. I encourage to use SWAP partition on m2 if your RAM is less than 8G and if you decide to run virtual machines using SWAP is recommended.
Which desktop environment is most customizable and fast? You use many linux distro, plz suggest me a linux disto arch or debain anything which is first and without any bug. Plz plz
Many thanks to you,I have been struggling to install manjaro, endeavour, and arch, and I found your video, and tried arch once more,I still could not connect by WiFi,I had an error,I searched for this and it said that 5ghz Internet has problems connecting.I then set router too 2.4ghz and it managed to connect and I managed to install archon my 4k Imac ,many thanks Ksk Royal 😊
is it possible to setup so that grub can detect windows as well during boot up? i am in the same situation where i want to have separate SSD for different OS. but grub are not detetcting my windows drive
Install OS-Prober with the command provided *sudo pacman -Sy os-prober* Edit the grub file, *sudo nano /etc/default/grub* Set the *GRUB_TIMEOUT=20* Scroll to the bottom and uncomment the line GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false ave changes with ctrl + o and exit with ctrl + x. Run *sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg* to update the grub configuration.Verify that Windows boot manager is detected. Also Go to this article kskroyal.com/arch-win11-dualboot-2024/ and look for ADDING WINDOW ENTRY TO GRUB part to fix this issue.
