Brilliant video. However, my 2012 Audi Q5 uses Bluetooth through an adapter connected to that AMI port in the glove box. No onboard Bluetooth through MMI. Will I still be able to make calls through Bluetooth? Does your AMI cable replace my aftermarket Bluetooth device connected to the AMI port?
Hello, we use the AMI port for sound, so our AMI cable will have to be plugged into it for sound to work while using CarPlay/Android Auto. Thank you for your comment.
Hi this is one of the techs here at unavi usa. You will still retain the audi screen display, you would have to change back to the audi screen in order for you to see that.
Hi this is one of the techs here @ UNAVI USA. Yes on the factory side (audi side) you have to select AUX/AMI (external device) output for sound to come out through the vehicles speakers. Our harness IS hard wired to the back of the radio unit of the audi. Which will allow this to work.

I just installed this in my son's 2011 Audi Q5, and Car Play immediately came on through both Bluetooth, and through the USB connection, but the MMI controls aren't working, and there's no audio. Any idea what I might have done wrong?
I should have also said, the video was incredibly helpful! I was able to follow along with everything, and everything in the car was exactly the same as the video. You made it feel so easy. Now if only it worked perfectly! I'm just wondering if there's a specific cable I should check-maybe something wasn't connected fully?

Hello, no ours is an add on to the existing system and you can switch between the OEM system and the CarPlay system. I have a 2012 the MMI is acting up, no sound from the radio, gets stuck in screens. Do i need to replace the MMI unit first and then install this? Or can I just install this on the faulty MMI and expect it to work?

Looks pretty compromise free other than the calling workaround through the factory mmi. That's pretty unfortunate you can't just use the carplay interface/dial from the phone directly or answer through the interface.
Hello, in vehicles that were not manufactured with CarPlay in mind, we have to program it this way for the system to work with Apple and Google software. We've asked them to help us little guys, however they do not budge when we ask them why they make it this way, they say figure it out or buy a new car; lol, not really. However since we use the factory bluetooth system it has to be handled this way or it will not work properly. Thank you for your comment and have a great day!!

Bonjour merci pour vos vidéos L'auto radios est installé et jarrive à jour de la musique. Seul problème est que je ne vois pas les informations du véhicule sur la tablette. Quand je clique par exemple "voiture" ça me mets "signal". Je n'ai donc pas aussi les informations du tableau de bord. J'ai changé les paramètres à plusieurs reprises. Pourriez-vous m'aider ?
