What’s the difference between the D2S Kit and the D2H Kit?
D2S: Allows for OEM bulbs, or a D2S bulb from any other manufacturer to be used should you desire. Allowing for better output and longevity. Better bulb seating within the holder.
D2H: Cheaper, easier to install, theoretically should have the same output as D2S, however, if installed incorrectly, you may experience shadows in your output. Reinstallation should fix this. Should the bulb fail, you will be forced to buy another D2H bulb, and will have to wait for delivery/shipping as it’s not a “common” bulb that all supplies carry and is “aftermarket only”.

*** A FEW TIPS FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO INSTALL A SET IF D2H BULBS IN THEIR VLANDS *** 1. Watch this video through a few times. It's a great thorough explanation of how to install the bulbs! 2. If possible do all this while the headlights are out. It is possible to do this while the headlights are already on the car, but it's a pain in the butt to maneuver the dose box. 3. When grasping the bulb and the green retention ring put the wires in your back hand (pinky and ring finger) and your thumb and index finger against the retention ring so you can anchor the bulb and retention bring together so it doesn't lose its position. 4. Before doing the install, if you can, wire up everything on your car first to make sure none of your parts are defective! 5. Once all done, enjoy your new D2H bulbs 🙌🏾

Do you know if d2h/ hid are worth it? I heard they get super hot and take more power, wouldn’t just a different set of led’s do the trick?

@@lizzofan Hey, Litt. I can subjectively say that D2H's are definitely worth it. I made the swap a little over a year ago and don't know why I didn't swap sooner. Bulbs will run hot regardless. I can't speak on the power draw either, but for the light output you get, you honestly can't beat em!

d2s is LED bulbs and d2h are HID bulbs, hid is a lot brighter

@@chasebudnick9102 that's incorrect. D2S is an oem bulb base type that oems will use with an igniter that twists on. This is the "correct" way to do it. D2S are not specific to led as you say, and really, no one should ever use a led d2s bulb. D2H uses the same base as d2s, but has 2 wires attached to it to connect to a aftermarket AMP style ballast/Igniter. D2H is slightly easier to install, however d2h bulbs don't have the same oem quality options available such as d2s' from oems such as Philips & Osram.

Hey i followed these instructions and the lighting on the right side isnt shining correctly at all, i cant see when i turn right, the perifial vision is cut off and the highbeems dont work on the right side. I need help

Sounds like your bulb isn't seated correctly in the holder. Also, the high beam function is not a feature of the low beam, but rather the projector itself.

can you please tell me how to open the headlight housing? I see 0 screws outside, but I see 4 screws inside the housing that connect the black housing to the lens, it's almost impossible to reach them

This brand in particular uses a very strong silicone like sealant typically known as Perma seal. I cut all housings open now. Before screws you see on the inside are only used to keep the inner bezel in place.

The ballast is required to power the hid bulb, it will not work without it. The relay is optional, however highly suggested in order to draw the extra power straight from the battery instead of through the thinner oem wires.

You'd have to open the headlights and either use a rgbwa Chasing strip available on www.gtaretrofits.com/shop or replace the led chips with custom made ones

@@GTARetrofits People say LED's have terrible light output with Vlands, but if I were to get say something like 6000k LED's, wouldn't those be super bright? What makes LED's bad with Vlands? Any info would help, thanks man!

Hi, looking to install vland on my frs and confused with the bulbs. So the only difference between d2s and d2h is that some of the wiring is already done? Also, if it has a connector for an h7 bulb, could you not just get a set of h7 led bulbs? I currently have h11 led bulbs installed in the stock headlights and I realize it would not work with the vland

Yes, d2h is slightly more plug and play vs the d2s. H7 bulbs do not fit properly. It's a silly set up by vland. Also, led bulbs do not work at all in hid projector, the output will be worse than stock frs halogen headlights.

that is correct. I have another video showing exactly that. The only thing with D2S is that the cap is too shallow for the igniter and you'll have to use an extension cap (which I show, and provide)

The listing says with it you can buy these bulbs with or with out the decoder, what exactly is the decoder and does it matter to have it ?

Since these cars do not have Canbus, a decoder is unnecessary however if the kit were to only come with one, it would still work fine.

So I’m thinking about getting a set of VLands for my 2017 86. I’m going with a set of D2H bulbs between 5000k-6000k (whatever is closer to OEM) . Is that all I need? What’s is ballast, and is it necessary for 2017?

No, they're completely incompatible with H11 bulbs. D2s or d2h only. Follow these guides and you'll have good output

The relay has 2 battery contacts, these go to the battery. 2 outputs, these plug into the ballast 1 input, this plugs into the 1 larger plug coming out of (in your case) the passenger side headlight. The 2 ballast outputs plug into the corresponding plugs coming out of the headlights.

@@SazabiSkythe the blue/white (or sometimes red/black) must be connected inside the light, and then run outside. This is what the replay will take its trigger 12v from. (passengers side only technically).

@@SazabiSkythe sorry, my mistake, passenger side only (fixed comment). Since there's only 1 input for the relay, you do it on the side closer to the battery, the passenger side in this case. However, you can still do both sides, just incase. And both are provided anyways.
