I can't think of a project I've finished that didn't have some amount of drudgery, and it just so happens drainage has been on my mind lately. Great video as always and I'm excited about the rest of the series!
Glad to hear it! And yea, definitely some not-so-fun parts to this project but I've certainly learned a lot along the way. I've also learned what jobs I'd hire out if I were to do this again!
So glad you did this. The gutters on my house are atrocious(30 years old), and I want to replace them myself. Hope I can find a seamless gutter DIY solution like this in my area.
This is one of my favourite series on RU-vid. I've been watching since part 1 and it's definitely a highlight of my week when a new episode in the series goes live. Keep up the good work and good luck with all those cabinets!
Nicely done Johnny & crew! Glad that you installed that leaf guard. We have it on our gutters and it makes a big difference! Looking forward to the interior finishing process. 👍👍😉😉
Nice job and the leaf guards is a good add on! Keep up the great work as the goal is for us to continue to inspire others to build something awesome! 👍🏼
This is awesome. Looking for gutter guard options on the back side of my house now. This whole series is awesome, I feel like I could go build my own house at this point.
Gutters are one of those things I dont hesitate to hire out. I hate working on them. Can do a whole house for a few hundred bucks... worth it if I dont have to do it.
super great work on all the vids ... the sound control is incredible and great editing and every vid is extremely informative. Also my 1st battery operated tool system when I started remodeling was Craftsman a looooong time ago. I'm a DeWalt guy now for reasons but Craftsman is catching up
Leaf blower on a roof is the way to clean it. Even if you don't have gutter guards, you can still walk along the perimeter and blow out the gutters. It moves the mess to the ground, but that's a lot easier to clean up than bending down at the edge of a roof or working off of a ladder.
Pretty fantastic work, Johnny! The house is looking amazing! 😃 Installing those things isn't funny. At all! But it really turned out great! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
you should put the swan neck to heather first 2-4 screw in the top going they elbow and middle piece hold it together tight and then attach the body and ect
Go to your local paint store and look for muriatic acid. Cut it, starting at 10 to 1 in a pump sprayer. Mask off the wood part of the deck and spray it on the rust stained bricks. Should clean the rust right up. If not, lower your ratio.
I used this on my concrete patio, worked like a charm. Just be ready to work QUICK. Depending on the age/concentration/hardness, the acid can also make easy work of the concrete itself. I did a small area at a time, and flooded the area with the hose when it was done.
Make sure to caulk the screws !! Also try not to put any screws from bottom (unless huge gap an no choice but to screw from bottom ) just to leave a better more clean look.
They still look like they are installed too high. Did you check that the top front edge of the gutter is not above the roof line? Usually use a level to extend the roof line over the gutter for mock up.
The reason you've never seen the grinder nut tool in the handle is because professionals (guys who run a grinder for 10 hours a day on a job) don't use the tool or the handle. Don't need them. As long as you don't get the disc in a bind, then you can spin it off by hand. Even if it is stuck a couple whacks against something (to spin the disc) will get off all but the most jammed up nut.
I'm not sure if you've sealed up your walls, but I would recommend running ethernet to each room where your "tv" outlets are. Cable is likely going away :) I really enjoy this series even though I'll probably never build a house.
Self tapping screws? Why not rivets? Especially around the downspout adapter where debris likes to get caught up anyways even without the help of sharp snag metal protrusions.
Rivets have a similar protrusion on the inside, can’t imagine that would make much of a difference. The gutter supplier supplied the screws as well and that’s what they recommended.
Hey man, awesome small house. You are doing a grea job! How many hours of your time and your helpers did you spend on this house? I want to do something similar by myself with some help like you and wondering how long is it going to take me. ? Thanks man
@@craftedworkshop ok thanks for answering. What would you let do professionals to save time ? And would you do something differently if you have to do it again? Thanks
Never seen square gutters and round downspouts. I wouldn't use a level to pitch the gutter. To imperfect. Could end up wavy. Why not just measure to the bottom of the fascia or snap a line?
So the Ryboi Cordless's have had the tool in the handle for years, I have 4 of them (chassis fab guy) and love it. As much as I love my Makita angle grinders for their power you loss track of that damn tool with in minutes of using it and waste like 20 minutes at a time looking it went you need to change a cut off wheel or grinder disk and so on.HAHAHAH /Cry.
yeah ive searched for about 6 hours total now after being quoted 17K by leaffilter for seamless gutters on my house at this point id rather do seamed gutters then give any of these hackjobs my money... @@craftedworkshop
I think they are installed too high. First heavier snowfall (if you ever get those) and the gutters are gone. I'm in New England and have done this mistake 🤣🤣
@@williamcox8491 I guess you have never seen one explode when it gets loaded up. The same reason you dont grind aluminum on a bench grinder. Also the same reason you dont spin up a bearing with a blow gun. You will will become a pirate.
U forgot to seal the screws!!!! But other than that this is one of the best gutter diy installs others are god awful but this 👌🏼 as a gutter guy who does this daily this is one of the best ones
LOL the name european.....you wont find them in europe ;) we have much nicer looking even in no seam.....but if installed normal gutters first read into it it's no problem with leaking, if installed as need to be....and yes i know more then enough for working 25 years in a factory who makes gutters, pipes and loads of more PVC stuff...
@@craftedworkshop the same...my not be the safest, but a local welder guy told me I was wasting my time once. Said as long as it was pretty tight the way it spins it won't come loose. I've only hand tighten my since that day. You are doing great work by the way!! Haha
Hey guys do you want DIY seamless gutters? Its easy! Just call someone with a machine.... Im sure the subscribers will be butt hurt, but this is a bs clickbait video.
