You can put 4 gutter downspouts on 1 four inch main line. If you use a pop-up emitter and a solid cover catch basin No Mosquitoes

Instead of a popup why not just use some socked agi pipe under ground in a gravel trench at the end of the system?

@Franklin-zc2jo That's a terrible idea. Tree seeds and tree buds will float down and simply plug the pipe because they have no way out. I see it all the time, so I speak from experience.

All I can say is I’m sitting in the middle of hurricane Ian here in Florida and i can’t be happier and more prepared with the 209 foot Baughman tile French drain I installed myself over a year ago! Learned everything here on FDM RU-vid ..Two 4inch high octane French drains plus a solid gold tapped in all my four gutters plus one neighbors on one side- will post action as long as I make it out alive

I live in Pennsylvania, can I use the Armor pipe with an external sump system? I have to pump water about 7'-10' up, however, it needs to travel about 25' long to hit that height (gentle slope up), will water sit in this pipe? Would schedule 40 be a better approach, being smooth? Also, is Armor pipe your product, are there suppliers near Philadelphia area? Thanks for your videos, I've learned a great deal.

At the beginning of this video you mention ‘grabbing’ the two downspouts at opposite ends of the house. Does the flexibility of the piping allow for a 90* curve at the corners where the downspouts are located? I have this same positioning of downspouts at a newly constructed home that does not have sod yet in the yard. Builder insists that doing exactly what you are doing in this video won’t work because the piping isn’t flexible enough to accommodate the corners and be able to tie both downspouts into one run where there is at least 2 feet of drop to run the remainder of piping to away from foundation.

It will do a sweeping 90° we do Encourage DIYers to use a single wall smooth on the inside 90 so they don't crack the pipe because it is so thick

I still have a bunch of knife cut and geotextile fabric left over. If I wrap the knife cut in the fabric do you think I can use it to run a downspout drain underground about 50 ft out to a pop up emitter at the street? I know it should be solid but just trying to use up what I have.

French Drain Man ... My yard and my neighbor's yard has several trees and I'm constantly monitoring the gutters for leaves and debris. Have you ever seen the need for two clean outs in one line?

We currently are running 3 clean out in one line. The clean out at the house and the clean out our in line basin hybrid provides. We also get into the system from the pop-up emitter so there is the 3rd clean out.

Is that corrugated tube slotted? everyone else says to wrap slotted corrugated lines with that fabric so Dirt does not get into system. And often they use the stone gravel all along the lines.. not just at the end, at the popup

To maintain a 1-2 % grade on any length run, do you dig the trench than lay the high octane in the trench put a 4 foot level on the pipe as you lay the pipe in the trench and dig out trench accordingly to maintain a grade?

At 7:45, did not tape the connections to the in-line catch basin. Is there need at this type connection vs at other fittings? Trying to get all info together before I start my project.

We want that area to leach. We drill holes in the catch basin as well. After a rain the basin will have some water left in it. Here in the North that could freeze solid if it wasn't build to leach away.

Are you no longer using or recommending using closed top D-boxes to catch the shingle gravel?

They were difficult to install for Homeowners. They held a lot of water and wouldn't dry up because it was to much water to leach into the sub-soil. Most Homeowners never took the cover off to clean them out because it wasn't convenient. These are the Negatives. We improved in every area with our redesign of the catch basin / D-box. They both work.

It's their world, and we are living in it. It sucks and we have fewer and fewer options on freight companies because so many of them are no longer in business.

I get it, but should the customer be the one doing all the leg work on figuring out where the gear is? I paid for freight, gear never showed, was supposedly “lost” and had to be re-sent. Lost a lot of money with my crew doing nothing on the project for over a week. Your “team” never followed through with call backs or getting in touch with freight company. I kept getting excuses on the your customer service end and still haven't been refunded my freight charge like it was promised.

It's not a french drain system it's a roof run-off system. We also ran all solid Armor Pipe and no knife cut Pipe. I hope this helped. Thank you for commenting!
