Hey Tracy Yesterday my H6 Dual Battery Kit arrived, soooooo, thought today would be a good day to finally assemble the H6 Max and install the kit. Done, so now doing the manual thing and putting the batteries on chargers for 6-7 hours. Tomorrow, since it warmed up, I'll probably taken the H6 on maiden ride. Only thing I'm upset, errr, aggravated about is the announcement of the H9 AWD as I would have bought that instead of the H6. Can you imagine, a 20 Ah in the tube and a 60 Ah behind the seat? Someone like you might not need to charge but a couple times a month. And the torque, 750 front 1000 rear, ones says, "what hill?"...lol Safe Riding dude.

Right?!?! I knew it was just a matter of time before they went awd but didn't know it'd be this quick! And yeah I pretty much just cruise to work and back or hop fishing spots on the river. Even my 1st gen H6 had plenty of range and power for that. Even in the snow. I just wanna play with a dual hub setup cuz it's cool! I'm hoping maybe they'll offer an upgrade kit for the Max. Forks would probably need swapped tho. IDK. Maybe they'll send one my way.....fingers crossed.

@@TheE-LightenedArtist Think it's an H6 with a 750 w front motor and different stickers. I already asked Wallke if the DBKit is the same as H6 and was told: YES I believe with all the batteries removed, H6 and H9 weight the same. (Edit: H9 is heavy, due to the front wheel motor) Another question I have, can you buy the 60 Ah battery for the H6, appears when you toggle between the 40 and 60 Ah model the seat stem appear to be longer on the 60

the battery upgrade kit seem to be unavailable (sold out) everywhere, any clue where to get it?? and did you do a range test with both batteries to see what kind of total milleage you would get ?nice video btw, you helped me chose the right e bike for me

I think they already sold through this model and discontinued it. Pretty sure the H9 kit is the same. Hit them up and they’ll point you in the right direction.

Thank you for this video first off. I imagine my H9 will be similar but I haven’t looked yet. Just got it delivered yesterday. I’m curious though if it’d be worth it to spend the extra money for the extra battery. Only ridden 10 miles so far today but the bike is still at 100%. And idea what difference in range you’re getting on your h6 since installing this? Thanks for your time in advance

Hi. My dual motor H7 only has a 40ah. I actually did a range test with that. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2qIIrkjgSsw.html It's comparable to your bike. Personally, I'm ok with 40ah. Having 60 on the MAx is overkill for my use. I think that's meant for people commuting a really long way or delivery riders. For the casual rider, 40 is fine.

Does the second key need to be in ignition/turned on in the second battery while riding? Or is it just for second battery lock/removal purposes? And how does charging work btw? Do u charge the main battery 7-8 hrs, unplug and then charge the second another 5-6 hrs or so, assuming we have the one charger? Thanks!

It’s a lock and off switch but you can remove the key while it’s on. The rear battery requires the key to stay in. You get a charger for each battery so you can charge them both at the same time. Bout 6 hours.

Hey @mkeonline I have the dual battery kit and when I ride with both keys in the on position on both batteries at the same time...I notice it pulls current from my front battery only. When I checked the voltage in my rear battery it was still topped off 54.6v Not sure if that's the way it's setup to function. I was thinking it was going to pull current from both batteries if both keys were on while riding. So I guess when one battery gets low, you turn it off and turn on the second battery, which is ok with me.

Hmmm. They should be equalized. they both go through the eq then into the controller so it should pull from both equally. It might just seem that way because the rear is bigger. Do me a favor and check the rear connection points and let us know.

The tube batteries are 10.2 lbs

those other batteries were from the X3 Pro and original H6. The X3 battery is the same as the new Max battery (20ah) yet the head is different for fitment. The First gen H6 battery is only 14ah and is a slightly different shape. Unfortunately, none of these are interchangeable. The rear battery on the Max is 20lbs.

Hey Man, new to your channel and I love your content. Earlier this month I purchased the X3 Pro 2023 and I'm loving it. I just want to know if you can confirm that the battery for the X3 Pro 2023 can or cannot fit into the downtube of the H6 Max. If it can, I'll pull the trigger and pick up the H6 Max (40 ah) version without any hestiation. Thanks for your help. @@TheE-LightenedArtist

Unfortunately, they aren't interchangeable. The cases are the same, but the head units are different.

Quick question. My Gforce bike has a 48 volt 60 ah battery and came with a charging plate and empty space for a battery. What amp equalizer would you recommend? 20, 30, 40?

Hi. So the equalizers that came with these are 40a.(if i remember right) I did have an issue with a brake wire coming loos from a pigtail and found the fuse charred but not snapped. So, in my opinion, it was over fused. I swapped it to a 30a fuse. I believe the eq rating is a "Max" output. These particular motors peak at 16. So you would be fine with a 40 any of those. I'd probably just go with the 40 and down size the fuse if necessary. I'm am far from an expert in any of this but that's my experience. let me dig through my pics to make sure im telling you right. my memory is less than dependable lol. to many toys...

Those codes are usually connection related. Check all those connections. Those jullet connectors can be tricky. Pay real close attention and make sure they’re all the way engaged.

I haven’t gotten an H9. The most important upgrade on these is gearing. Not only takes care of ghost pedaling but also helps the batteries. You might not need to upgrade the batteries.

Save up a few bucks and pick one up, I'm looking forward to it. already finding to be quite a bike! One question though, any idea which freewheel to use the H6 Max to pull my foot out of the hole I find it in at speed?

Hey man, I got this bike about a month ago I put about 600 miles on it and I noticed that the battery has started to rattle the hub motor wire next to the brake is frayed and cut! Terrible design!

Absolutely. When I first pulled the wheel off and saw that I was Floored. I'm guessing that configuration didn't take the larger discs into consideration. I check it often to make sure the cable is fastened to the frame tightly. Even then, the clearance way to close. I haven't had an issue yet. You're the first to let me know about it actually rubbing. I'll definitely be bringing that up in a future video. A variation in the axle spacers might solve it. Thicker one on the cable side, thinner on the freewheel side?

Good Wallke videos. Do you know the weight of the bike without batteries and seat/seat post? I'd have to take it up stairs and don't mind doing it in two trips

Hi! The rear 40ah is just over 20lbs. The front battery is just over 10 I think. I’ll pull the batteries and check on a scale for ya here in a bit.

On my 2023 H6 ST the rear battery is very tight fitting how is it on yours?

Ya know I haven't tried taking that one off yet. On my original H6 (same rear battery) I had some grit get in there and cause it to be hard to get off. The rail that the battery slides down on could have gotten knocked a little crooked too. I ride that bike a little rougher than I should. I lightly lubricated the rail and made sure it was tight and straight. Also, a good idea to use a little dielectric grease on the connection. It protects the connection and helps it disconnect easier. And make sure the slots on the battery are clear. Cheers!

I mentioned the battery warmer mod made out of a heated jacket I see it would only work for batteries on the frame and I think ima go for it, if I were to keep the battery in the frame warm but not the rear battery do you think the bike will still benefit from it? Do hub motors not perform well in the cold also?

I rode all through the Idaho winter last year with no problems. I tried to avoid below freezing but there were a lot of days that were high 20’s low 30’s.
