I would have covered those holes up before putting that wing on, as now water will get into the truck as that 3M will not stop everything.

Just bought and installed the v2 paint matched white and it looks sick af. I recommend a paint matched version personally because it really fills out and squares off the rear of the car nicely.

Looks great. I am installing a paint matched one this week. Hot glue would be a great thing to plug the holes, it is easy to remove and will last forever to make a seal. Its odd I think I saw 4 holes, but only 2 bolts? Oh the 2 clips.

@@RobHTech Yeah i Installed it shortly after, and used 4 self-tap screws. My idea, now the website sells them by 10s. lmao

I'd buy this spoiler, but I will not use tape on my car for any reason, put the threaded holes in it and try again

Good video. Better shot of the adhesive on the spoiler would be nice

Not to be that guy to tell you how to do your job but I don’t think the quick detailer is the best thing to “clean” the surface with before applying an adhesive. I think you might get a cleaner and better surface to stick to with some IPA (alcohol not beer)

IPA is good for cleaning and being an adhesion promoter. For floating an adhesive into position, using a single drop of baby liquid soap into a spray bottle of water works the best. Spray detailer is NOT the right product for adhesive installs.

What size are 2 bolts? Metric or American SAE, OEM spoiler had 4 clips and 2, 8mm bolts. I would feel better with hardware and the 3m tape

To be honest, bolts aren't needed. Tested over 120+MPH with no issues.

This is probably the only video showing the uninstall of the oem duckbill. seeing those drilled holes makes me cry. I have the 2023 limited wrx so its standard. Crap.

I think both this and the sti wing are solid options but I like this one alot more. Bet it looks sick in carbon fiber

I really want the carbon fiber duckbill spoiler you guys have! just a question, are you able to reuse the other clips from the stock spoiler unto the new duckbills? Just don't want to get water to get into it.

Negative. Even with the OEM duckbill spoiler replacement I had to order new push clips as they got pretty messed up during the removal of the smaller spoiler. You can use some 3M automotive tape or some other waterproof tape to patch the holes before you put on the new spoiler though!

Mine should be here tomorrow. I've been ordering most of my parts from a competitor, but you guys had the vortex generator I wanted, and the prices seem to be the lowest. So there are at least 2 screw holes lining up, right?

Carbon! Mine came with the factory strip on the trunk. real carbon. I have carbon mirror caps also. Waiting on ISC. I'm running 18 9.5 Avid1's 255's Conti DSW plus ,new ETS intake and exhaust. Waiting on ETS TMIC pitch stop and yes the bumper is painted. Brakes next.

Do the tapping screw holes on the spoiler match up with the holes on the trunk lid on a Premium trim? Does the spoiler come with new tapping screws or do you reuse the existing ones?

Yes, they should. My V2 Duckbill lined up with the two holes for the factory lip.

@aeroflowdynamics I just got my 22 WRX base without the OEM spoiler. Would this work without having the existing holes and just using automotive heavy duty 3M double sided tape?

Yup that's they way they installed this spoiler; it's just 3M tape holding the spoiler onto the car. You're actually better off if you are getting this spoiler and don't have the factory holes there because then there's no potential for leaking!

Yeah I threw some 3M automotive tape over the two holes left in mine when I swapped the small factory spoiler for the larger OEM duckbill spoiler. 4 of the 6 holes line up so you can use 4 push clips in addition to the 3M tape, but two of the holes (the ones where the screws were) were just wide open.
